you are saying better lens and better picture etc…are you comparing 3 black to 3+ silver…or 3 black to 3+ black
it’s not smaller. They are identical to the mm. The cases are a different shape/size…but the cameras are identical.
here let me help…

GoPro added “+” to the Black and Silver editions after this graphic was published:

Decent video comparing 3 vs 3+, silver just doesn’t have as many filming options to my knowledge.

I was comparing the 3 to the 3+… According to the GoPro website the 3+ is supposed to be 20% smaller but after doing more research it is just the case that is smaller like you said. The lens is faster and sharper with better low light filming. The battery lasts an extra 30% longer which I guess isn’t that big of a deal since I could just buy a better battery for it like you said. The WIFI is apparently 4 times faster which sounds awesome but I haven’t had any experience with the 3 so I don’t even know if that’s a big deal or not. I don’t really care about having the 4K, 2.7k, and 1440p shooting modes hence my choosing the silver edition. I’m not sure what kind of difference the SuperView mode makes but I’m not sure that is important either. Basically I’m more interested in the 3+ because of the better lens which is supposed to be sharper with darker blacks and much better in low light. Another difference between the 3 Black and the 3+ Silver is in 1080p the max FPS for the 3 Black is 30 and the 3+ silver is 60. Again not the most important feature ever but it will make for smoother slow motion. The audio is also supposed to be better but again like you said it sucks anyways so it’s nothing to really worry about.
Sure about that? I think the 3 will shoot 1080P 60fps. The silver+ should be on par with the 3 black. The benefits would be, sharper picture (if you watch the video I posted it really is only noticable when zooming), improved wifi distance and lag (lag isn’t really an issue unless you are trying to use the camera as a live feed), better low light filming. I get pretty good battery life but like you said I also have a back up battery and a the battery bacpak for extended filming. Cold weather is a real killer on these things though as is not using them and getting the battery cycled. I will try to dig up some footage from my black edition. I just htink you could get a coupe used black editions for the price of a new silver +. Think of it like a Iphone 5 to an iphone 5s, it is a small performance bump and next year will be the big change again.
Here are teh black edition specs

Saki here’s a video

The video with a go pro is on my Facebook.
I haven’t raced anyone else.

Yeah you’re correct… I misread on of the charts.
when did you get supercharged?
when did you get supercharged?
I did it myself in October. A birthday present to me.
haha nice
Maybe if we’re annoying mdubz, Clochner can rescue the AC line thread and move the go-pro discussion to the gopro thread? Or we could leave it here. Mdubz, it’s your house. .
I think he likes the attention. Also saki u we have already talked about me installing the supercharger a couple months ago. U asked how the cutting went.
We did get a little off topic but it doesn’t bother me either way. Maybe just get the thread renamed or something.

yeah that rings a bell now.
Oh the humanity chopping your chassis apart like that! LOL
So I finally got a little news today after speaking with JHM. The shipping quote is a little less than I expected not to mention they are going to pick me up from the airport which was a pleasant surprise. Dru also gave me an actual price on installing the supercharger and engine and breaking it in which I felt was fair. Their price on pulling and reinstalling the engine was about the same as what it cost to have 3Zero3 just pull the engine. Unfortunately, this will add an undetermined amount of time to the project because of how busy they are right now. Once my car is there and the engine makes it back to the shop, I will get an ETA, but I’m under the impression it’s going to be at earliest the start of March now. At least it will be done right and this will also give them enough time to wrap up the stage 2 supercharger kit so I won’t have to wait for that.
You may also be interested to know that one of the service advisers over at 3Zero3, while talking to one of my best friends, asked “So when is he going to get this project wrapped up? We’re sick of having his car at the shop.” Seriously, that’s their attitude? I had around $6,000 of labor done in 2013, I was paying them $100/month to store my car in their lot, which has plenty room, not to mention they’ve ignored standard protocol almost every step of the way in addition to soaking my clutch and pressure plate in oil when they shipped the engine.
Either way, I’m headed over to 3Zero3 tomorrow to deliver them the news personally and see the state my car is in. I’d actually be surprised if the transmission isn’t in the car when I get there tomorrow, and I also wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to charge me labor for putting it back in even if it already was.
The waiting game continues…

Damn man. Hate reading stories like this about “reputable” shops. Good to hear you are getting it over to JHM. I’m pleased and lucky to have them a couple hours away. They had Sean open the shop and meet me on a Saturday to drop my B5 off for RS6r work. Good by me. Made me take train and then a bus and then walked a block to pick it up though. Bastards :P. Seriously though, why not have the shop that developed and perfected the parts perform the install if you can.
That is simply exceptional news you’re all set for a JHM install. March is only 2 months away it would’ve taken just as long to continue with a local install.
As many have noted, if I had just sent my car to JHM in the first place, I’d be way ahead and looking to get it in a couple weeks.
Can’t live in the past. Look forward to its completion. It will be awesome. Patience of course is a virtue on these things.
You will probably end up getting Jason’s built motor that he was going to put in his B6. That car keeps getting shafted lol. Every time he is due to get one in it a customer gets it.

I’m sure he won’t mind too much as he’s gonna be the one driving it around and breaking it in until I come get it.
