Yes I was lucky. Stage 1 and stage 2 built S4, and stage 1 and 2+ RS4.
The feeling is pretty cool. Hvaing put 150,000 KMS on B7 S4 stock and modded…and B7 RS4 stock and modded, it was cool to feel the changes.
Stock B7 S4 was nice and torquey and fun. But when you JHM tuned it, it really made it much more responsive and way quicker. I picked up what…5-6 MPH in trap speed with my tune/exhaust. But it still fell off up top. You’d get to 6000 and start to feel it. Not dramatic, but you felt it.
Then I drove AXEL’s stage 1 S4 and it felt WAY different…car just pulled forever. It really runs away from you compared to NA. You can just feel it and then you have to watch the tach because you get up there quickly without the signals from the fall off of power you had when NA. My best trap ever was what…107 in my B7 S4. AXEL’s car trapped 114 - 116. That’s a huge step
Interestingly though the stock motor stage 1 S4 kit is SOOOOO held back up top. But it doesn’t feel it compared to NA. It feels awesome. I believe the tune has throttle down to like 40% at 6000 RPM even if your foot is through the floor. Protecting the motor.
In California I put probably 100 miles on the JHM stage 1 supercharged B6 S4. It had headers and was afrigging blast. There was another level there vs. Axel’s car, primarily because of the headers and the tune for headers stage 1 giving it a bit more. Not dramatic, but definitely quicker. That level was evident in performance testing, as well as on the road fully loaded. We had Dan from JHM, CountVohn and Me in the car. The three of us weighed around 700 lbs. Then we had some luggage in there as well. A guy in a burnt orange SRT Challenger pulled up on us, and it was on. Quick downshift, let him get beside us with some momentum for him and then pin it…and there was no chance for him. It was hilarious. At the end of the pull after we slowed down and he caught back up, he was giving us the Wayne’s world ‘not worthy’ bow. We all had a good laugh.
The stage 2 S4 I was in I was just a passenger, and it was going through breakin so we couldn’t exactly take it through the roof, but pulling through the RPMs was excellent. I have some 60-90 MPH data (PBOX GPS BASED) on every one of these B67 S4 configurations and I will just say none of the others are anywhere close to the stage 2 S4…and that’s on a bitch tune.
