Well in the past yes and jake said it’s possibility(this was before my carbon clean/injectors) then did injectors and electrical tape to temp fix it. I’ll clear the ecu and see what comes up this weekend. Performance doesn’t seem to change when I get these rich codes besides exhaust note. - I get a super fast trip pole burst of burbles before the normal burbles… Lol
Well we are back to square one. The running rich code for bank two came back as well as a system too lean code. I guess new injectors didn’t trick as well as the breather hose fix I mentioned above
There is an issue with your O2 sensors or the flange of your DPs aren’t seated correctly IMHO. I had an O2 sensor with screwed up threads back out of my DP a little and I got some pretty weird codes.
In order to stop chasing your tail, I’d bite the bullet and replace all 4 O2 sensors and get the car on a lift while running to make sure there isn’t any leaks around your DP flanges.
just try the leaks first…that’s free if you know someone with a lift
4 o2 sensors is not biting the bullet on an RS4. It’s biting an $800 shitburger.
doubt its the 02 sensors… i suppose it can be the leak as the edu reads the MAF g/s and the o2 sensors read it in a way and if theres a leak it picks up less air because its escaping before the sensor(flange) ? causing it to go co-co.
Tony, were you able to resolve these issues?
Yea. I believe it was a leaky downpipe where it meets the header. At the flange
helpful update. Good to know. Its one of those odd little things that can cause issues. Sometimes it can be hard to spot these issues if you cant hear the leak.
might have jinx’d myself… CEL came on, the same P2098 code… lol… and I’m now on jhm catless dp’s…
first thing ill check is my IM bolts… then spray carb cleaner around the manifold…(won’t it catch fire on the motor though since its hot?)
Jeez man tough luck. I sprayed a lot of carb cleaner around my IM at full operating temp and it didn’t catch fire.
you should be fine. Just dont try and spray it on the exhaust manifolds
gotcha
ive been chasing my tail with o2 codes lately too. Its been my experience that once u start getting codes for heating circuit and response too slow that its time to replace them. I pissed around with bosch replacements but for some reason my car hates the universal sensors. I finally just broke down and bought all 4 senors. its a kick in the dick but has to be done. audi o2 sensors suck!
