B7 Rs4 w/ RS6 Motor

probably been discussed elsewhere on here but it looks like there are some updates on the project

[QUOTE=timmmy;8312456]The Audi V8 fits in the B7 chassis pretty well and all the parts are off the shelf. I just built one for mega power for a customer, but this is not cheap, we probably have an easy 6 figures into this motor as everything is custom (dry sump, intakes, etc etc)

We made 1001lbtq at 3000rpm and 800hp by 4Krpm flat to redline from this motor on the dyno and there is still more to go. I believe once complete this motor will push 1200/1200. Here is a video of an earlier run, this is 31psi on race gas.

More on this build later, it should be finished in March.

Oh what fun it is to be rich and have hobbies

What did i just look at?

awesome.

only 900 tq…

Is that the guy from new england? Is that an engine dyno? Are we really that excited by a dyno run?

That is an insane project. Wonder what the guy has in this now.

  1. bought B7 RS4 4 years ago for probably $60,000 or so
  2. bought PES supercharger kit for $13,000
  3. sold PES kit for ???
  4. bought C5 RS6 to have an engine donor car $25,000 (guess)
  5. do $100,000 engine build
  6. ???

Not sure what else…but holy shit. He must be $200,000 into it. If he walked away today, he would have

built motor C5 RS6 - worth maybe $20,000-25,000 on the market
hacked up C5 RS6 body - worth maybe $15,000
hacked up RS4 body - worth maybe $20,000
RS4 engine - worth maybe $10,000
PES supercharger for RS4 - worth maybe $5,000
B7 Rs4 that he enjoyed for probably 2 years (depreciation of the car over that period was about $20,000, which he received as a ‘value’ item)

So he has $200,000 in capital invested and is left with $20,000 of RS4 usage + $75,000 in assets including 2 non-running cars, and a $125,000 dyno sheet.

I really really hope this build gets completed some day.

yeah its living weapon’s car/project. it appears he switched shops, the new shop recently finished up the LS6 RS6 swap so hopefully we’ll get to see this finished up.

sorry what? LS6 RS6?

I guess I need to read the article…!

oh wait…you mean the guy who was on motorgeek?

So did they put the LS into the RS6 shell that this 4.2 T came out of?

Poor living weapon…sucks to see he had to switch shops. This has been going for 2 years+

I’m not sure honestly, I lost track of everything after I stopped caring about my C5.

The project Judas RSS6 is done, just got a built 383 iirc.

Not sure if that shell sourced the RS6 motor sitting on the engine dyno in the video, It would make sense though.

The shop doing the project now seems to have a better history of executing crazy 1 off projects. The previous shop I had heard of as a good option for maintenance but I never heard of any crazy projects coming out of there.

I dont think the project will flop. Google the name of the show and the word build and you will see that they are very capable of executing something like this.
