Which color? Anthracite grey? Looks much better! Love it
I believe so, trying to get him to register here.
NIce, how many coats/gallons where used?
“12 coats , 3 Anthracite = Awesomeness”
To quote him lol
some black wheels would really set that off, looks great
I still haven’t seen a plastidipped car that looks good in person. I’ve seen quite a few and they ALL have a texture I could never, ever get used to unless it’s a beater and maybe I’m trying to cover up rust.
In pictures showing the entire car, sure, everything looks great. Take a close up and let’s see the finish on that thing…
I agree with Jspazz on this.
In pictures they look great but something happens in person. I can’t pinpoint what it is but it seems inconsistent. Not sure.
The OP pics looks great and I love the color choice!
Air particulates, shitty paint gun, application inconsistency…
Basically worse than a Maaco paint job that’s why.
Great for some winter protection I guess. Expensive at that. Shit you do in the midwest to wast time…
Haha, I’ll say this: he is a perfectionist, he made a McGuire downdraft in his garage when he sprayed, it is for winter protection, up close I say it’s 88/100, I’ll snap close ups tomorrow.
Don’t hate on shit to do in the MW, we have the best pizza and hotdogs we just sit around getting fat
I have plastidipped a few things over the years and had the texture issue, but I now have a good technique for getting the finish as smoothe as smuckers .
I would love to see an entire plastidipped car up close though.
Sak are you dipping entire panels or parts like grills, etc? Big difference, esp when you can control the distance and direction of the spray. Spraying a hood, trunk, roof is difficult. Go to ertefa, you’ll see tons of dipped cars…haven’t seen a smooth one yet.
Dblearon, did he make a downdraft garage floor? Or just a table for parts…either way, nice. I should consider converting our old air hockey table at the cottage with a bigger filtered fan run in reverse lol.
I’ll get a close up of mine. It is quite smooth ;D
This is probably my favorite matte car to date, plus it’s a RS5. Matte blue with a clear coat on top. Looks like the “frozen” colors BMW was/is doing. It’s got a bit of gloss but definitely mostly a matte look. Plus I’m a sucker for blue cars done right.
