B8.5 to C7.5 Mod & Track Progress

I’ve added another little “tweak” to the car and will be heading out the to the track tomorrow to see what it does. I apologized for being tight lipped on some of the things I’m working on but I have a collaboration with 3 other RS owners and we’re working hard on pushing the platform as far as we can. In due time I’ll reveal some of these things, most will seem silly and trivial but to date they’ve not really been done and we are having pretty decent results. I’m hoping after a good showing last time out this additional mod will push me in the 10.3X range and my Stage 2 buddies are hoping to get in the 10.1X’s-I’ll report back, good or bad, what the results are asap

Its great your sharing and keeping us up to date. I fully understand the little tweaks. many have laughed at me in the past for the little things I do to my car for better performance but in the end 10 little mods or tricks can add up to one big difference.

How did it go?

Not as well as I hoped, ambient temps were about 8 deg higher than last time so maybe that was it. I did however get some cool data from my Gtech Meter- it gets a lot of slack for being second class citizen but it was pretty accurate for the pass:

Ok, interesting Gtech Meter.

I’ll just leave this here, would love for anyone in the area to come out like Jimmy is

I would highly recommend that you start a thread in the Audi 1/4 mile, List & discussion forum section. Some of the New York and New Jersey guys maybe tempted to come down.

slightly better

One of the comments it looks like a guy with a RS7 said when using launch control his car … There is not launch control out side of a hard foot brake as the car has a standard TQ converter…right

that is correct, what most call “launch control” on our car is really just increasing the stall speed on the convertor- also, it’s very important to hard brake not allowing any lurch at all, otherwise you will not engage what APR calls AMAX shifting mode (I’m not aware if Audi has a diff name for it). I’ve felt the difference in my car and when it does not engage the shifting is perceptibly slower and my times will be in the 10.80/90 range vs low 10.4X’s. I’ll message you what I do so you can try it on the S8, I do use the Cete suspension control module as part of my launch technique- don’t know if that crosses over to the D4 platform cars or not. I will say APR is in shock that we are pulling 1.55 and better 60’ times in these cars, me especially since my car is Stage 1 only.
