B8 RS4 in NA...WTF?

Guess i don’t read quattroworld or Fourtitude often enough, LOL. Don’t think I’ll change that, BUT:

How did I miss this? Saki you must have read this but I somehow still missed it when you blew your load across the GTA.

We should petition AoC to get this car up here for a little visit too. Not that I need to see it…it would be a done deal for me if they brought it up. Worried they might only get it to the US and not show us any love north of the 49th.

Yeah, not a huge fan of station wagons but that is a sharp car… I really like the rims…

If that car comes it will make mine less rare, so I am not upset if it stays away.

I guess Jspazz missed the numerous articles and reports…maybe repression, hoping it won’t make it, since the “forced induction is the only way to go” theory will take some lumps after a few RS4 avants go low twelves stock!

As for us vs Canada if they get it we will get it. We piggyback off their crash testing, so there is no reason not to. We also buy five times as many Audi avants per capita than Americans. Just need euro gauge cluster and it’s Canadianized

It’s the only car that will make me want to sell my current Avant. If this comes to fruition I’m already on the list at my dealer

It sure is beautiful. I mentioned on another thread how insanely wide the widebody really is. You don’t see it in photos, but when you put these cars beside the A or S models, they dwarf them for presence etc.

B5 RS4 vs. B5 S4 Avant was comical
B7 RS4 vs. B7 A4/S4 was even more ludicrous
B8 RS5 vs. B8 S5 was the one that shocked me…because you can’t really tell the RS5 is widebody, but side by side it makes the S5 look so pedestrian

The B8 RS4 fender flares are very big and aggressive. Front end is awesome. Wheels are awesome. It’s a winner…unfortunately we’ll have to beg for it.

still needs spacers to fill the fenders out, despite the 9" wheels and 265 tires

OK…colour party. Go!

Wonder if people will give Audi shit for the fake exhaust tips the way the ISF got heat. Reality is that just about every car with big crazsy exhaust outlets is fake and for show. i.e. the Murcielago’s gigantic hexagon is just for show. Regular pipes feed out, end, then there’s a gap, then the tip is there on the bumper.

It’s so nice I believe I could live with it stock…maybe an exhaust

The stress of choosing a colour would make me lose sleep, for weeks. Red is nice, but I’m not sure i would like another red Avant. Would probably want something different. Blue, Grey maybe. I’m not a fan of white. Never black.

well look at what I have done with my Rs4. Nothing. Very easy to live with.

Hey, I love that colour “Sport something Grey” about halfway down. Not suzuka.

edit: Sport Classic Grey

Lol, that’s the one I was eying too.

Lighter than Daytona, darker than Suzuka.

Here’s another view of the car in Virginia

Funny sticker. Pretty cocky for a low 12 second car. Should be careful!

Since that’s an Audi car, and since that sticker is clearly printed in Helvetica Wide, Audi’s font, I reckon there is some Audi marketing behind that. It’s a bit of a try hard move, but if they’re trying hard to cool-up the wagon thing, that bodes well for them selling it here for the last hurrah for the B8 line. Probably 2014-2015 and then out.

Have you seen the black RS5 at Ao Oakville? Strange spec. No CF inlays, no full MMI/NAV w/ 6K carbon brakes.

Apparently it was ordered improperly and the person didn’t want it.

Really? Audi Canada got an allotment of a bunch of cars, and sent them across the country. Most of them were kind of the same as that, but I’m not sure about Nav. They all had carbon ceramic brakes. Basically they wanted them in showrooms, but they wanted them to be a stretch to buy vs. waiting. That’s why they all ended up with ceramic brakes…almost a deterrant.

I sent Audi in Ajax an email to petition for the car to make a showing here, they already responded and said they forwarded it to the product planning manager. I wouldn’t suggest flooding their inbox, but I’m sure a few emails from those who are seriously considering it couldn’t hurt.

Saki, I’m not an “FI guy” per se, but I’m sure I’ve said it’s pretty obvious tuning gains from OEM are inevitably bigger. Don’t forget my (admittedly shitbox) DD is a 400 hp NA V8. I’m not sure how PT manages driving a 1.8T or a TDI daily…must be a short commute.

The only problem is this would greatly delay any nicer track-car purchase for me…and I’ve been eyeing GT3 prices for a while now.

^^ With the 991 body style pricing has dropped!

I must say I’m with PT as I’ve never been much into wagons but the latest RS4 looks good!
It’s a 2.0T :)~ It can be tough at times but I do enjoy rowing the gears… Also, makes driving the S more fun on the weekends… Also, I only drive downtown two days a week and take the bus three days a week… I live about 35 miles east of downtown Cleveland… Oh and the Jetta has crazy torque… lol j/k

I drive about the same, 5 days a week, and drop both girls at school in the am. The volume inside an avant is awesome. The commute is mostly highway and wide open…and climbing the mountain in Hamilton, I really appreciate something with power, and a nice v8 soundtrack. I’d have those exhaust flaps open all the time.

The RS4 would almost do everything for me, except the track work, but I’m sure I’d take it once in a while anyway like I do the S4.

Sent an email to Audi Canada today RE: RS4 Avant and received this within the hour…
"Thank you for your recent email via AudiTalk and for your interest in our brand.

Further to your inquiry, we must regretfully advise you that we do not have plans to bring the RS4 Avant to the Canadian Market due to low demand for wagons in Canada, combined with the required design changes to meet Canadian regulations, the business case is not profitable for Germany to offer these models to our market. Although we have requested it, the final decision is made by our parent company in Germany.

We thank you for taking the time to write us and apologize that a more favorable response is not possible."
I replied asking the rep to still forward it to the Product planing manager citing the success of the TTRS “petition”.
I will pass it along for you. It is the passion and enthusiasm of customers like yourself that helps Audi Canada to decide what models to bring to the public in the future.
Hey Audi…Fuck you.

BMW didn’t bring the 3 series wagon to Canada for 2013. Lame. I’m blaming the 'Muricans!

True, but I’m pretty sure the new BMW 3 touring ( 328 ) is confirmed for NA.
