I think the cost of bringing it up to spec would be horrendous wouldn’t it?
Before we find out, quick, what is the Mexican auto trader? I want to do some fantasy shopping before someone pin pricks the balloon lol

Hmmm…peso equals 1/13 of a dollar, so a hundred grand

Find me a B7 RS4 Avant. Finder’s fee = 24 Carling and a bag of pork scratchings.
There was some confusion at the local dealer when a 3 door A3 pitched up for a service. They were visiting from Mexico!
wow, that thing is loaded…Ceramic brakes, exclusive interior…nice!!
unfortunately someone smeared baby shit all over the interior and the steering wheel.
52000 CAD for this one.
how sketchy is that frigging site though…I have no idea where that car is, who is selling it etc.
Wish there was a good site for this stuff.
Come on NAFTA…give me an RS6 avant!
This is nuts

2008 Ibis White C6 RS6 Avant 5.0 twin turbo with under 40k miles…for £33,000 including a whole bunch of shit thrown in???
That’s $55,000 over here. That’s what people are paying for a new loaded A4 allroad.
That’s retarded.
You pay £33k for the car. Then £4k a year in insurance, £300/y in road tax, plus £1.50/l in fuel. £1 = $1.50 for a conservative, easy maths conversion. It’s just horrible to own nice, fast cars in the UK.
However my shitbox VW Polo that my dad drives now costs only £150/yr to insure. I’m not aware of anyone’s insurance being that low here in Ontario.
that’s all irrelevant really. Its not priced cheaply as result of that…the whole market is in general the same as ours on used cars. From diesel golf to RS6
wonder if he’ll give up on trying to row his own gears finally
lol
I think that’s a front for him being in a major cash crunch. He’s not buying any $80,000 cars anytime soon. It’s fitting that he’s selling his B7 RS4 in order to make way for a B8 RS4 (when we have heard from a few people that the B8 RS4 is not coming here).
The ‘President’ of the ACNW is a guy like any one of us who volunteers to be the admin guy for an Audi club. It’s like being the ‘President’ of the Boston Celtics Ontario Fan Club, and then claiming you have inside information on upcoming trades (and then having someone post your comments as ‘an inside source’).
Anyway, good for the platform…will eliminate a fucking PARASITE who was trying to take all of his and his shop’s fuckups and blaming them on JHM, the one company who was helping the platform.
I agree with Saki, why would you be selling things like Go Pros and junk if you plan to get in another RS car??
He probably lost that ass on EBWerks stock…
Lots of chatter about “lack of torque” from the RS5’s 4.2, mostly from B8 S4 owners. I’m interested what this more “4.2 experienced” crowd has to say about this. A completed stock car that goes low/mid-12’s consistently is pretty compelling.
I saw a great quote from someone, replying to one of these torque lovers
‘I guess we should all get rid of our cars and buy diesel powered Touaregs then’
People are kind of simple minded. If you love torque, get a turbo-diesel. You’ll get spool, then a WHACK of torque, then you’ll have to shift gear. But you’ll feel torque. You’ll lose races, but you’ll feel torque.
If you like going fast, get a nice high hp car with a nice curve. When a bone stock RS4/RS5 whips an APR tuned B8 S4’s ass, what is the B8 S4 guy going to do…say ‘BUT I MAKE MORE TORQUE THEREFORE MY CAR IS FASTER!!!’ and then hold up his dyno sheet?
Interestingly, the RS4 makes 90% of it’s peak torque amount from 2000 to 7000 RPM. When the engine launched, it was hailed as a masterpiece for having a beautiful torque curve, as well as excellent high end. The RS5 engine is very similar in character, with better gearing and a faster shifting transmission to keep you right where you want to be in the power curve. All this torque talk is bullshit. It is almost always people justifying their own car vs. the new RS4/RS5. I used to (and still do) see this all the time in the b6/7 S4 forum regarding the B7 RS4. Now I see it all the time in the B8 S4 forum regarding the B8 RS4/5.
It’s a means to justifying your inability or unwillingness to purchase the newer, more expensive car. I don’t understand it at all.
You don’t hear any RS4/RS5 owners saying ‘oh noes, I am selling because I need more low end torque below 4000 RPM in order to feel loved’. However the RS4/RS5 order flow is being filled in by a variety of people, including plenty of former 3.0T (and 4.0T) owners. I don’t hear any of them complaining about their V8 that wrings out to 8500 RPM.
As mentioned on the chat I haven’t driven a larger displacement NA car in the past decade+. It’s been a string of small displacement turbo cars with more low-end torque and low HP. It sounds like it would be a different driving style, but I think I could get used to it
