B8 S4 day at TMP Cayuga April 6th or 7th - the TD1 war takes it to the track

Ok, I’ve done ATCO already this year, now we need to get a gathering up here at home. TMP Cayuga has both the road course and the drag strip open already…

I am going to visit for a couple passes this Sunday April 1st, anyone else cares to join it would be fun, but I’ll have to jet early afternoon.

After that, for a real GTG at TMP Cayuga, I’ll suggest either Good Friday April 6th, or Saturday April 7th. There has been a lot of interest for these dates to meet up, let’s make it happen! Please suggest the day you’d like to go, I’d vote for Friday but will stick with popular opinion here.

Like I said, the road course is open as well both days (and if you’ve never been lapping before, this is absolutely the track to develop your skills in terms of keeping your car out of harm’s way):

I’d imagine we’d have the holy trinity of TD1 tunes here (sorry though, likely no Stasis :p), based on conversations I’ve already had with some of you…

There are tons of stasis guys in the gta. Revo too. Giac not so sure.

There’s a gent in nearby Grimsby with GIAC that is sure to show…There’s a few guys with REVO I have been talking to about logs (although more in David’s neck of the woods East GTA)…obviously myself, David with APR…but I don’t know anybody with Stasis. Bring them if you can, Sak, or repost this on whatever forums the B8 guys up here hide.

My wife has been asking me to go to Canada for a while now and April 6th, or Saturday 7th might work out just fine! I’m guessing one of the 2 days at the track and the rest doing tourism.

That would be awesome Tribe! Now all we need to do is move the other race from Thompson dragway to Cayuga and we’ll have a colossal event.

Wat. That’s crazy. Maybe Cayuga will get some snow too on Sat, hard to tell from the forecasts. I’m working Sat night, so unless it’s crazy quiet, I’ll have to give it a miss. Maybe Easter w/e though.

if I’m not driving, I will come with you J. I’ll bring my camera gear and try to get some good rolling shots on the way of whoever, while we’re on the 403 with multiple lanes. I’ll also make some HD video of people’s runs if I can.

Anyone have a glidecam they can lend me for the day?

My brother-in-law just got a camera skate, looks like a shoe with rollerblade wheels. Also a shoulder mount for shooting video. It’s his work’s equipment, he’s at a big marketing company, but AFAIK it’s in his possession right now, and likely I can borrow it…

Not sure what you’re thinking about shooting here, but sure sounds promising…! Let me know.

nothing exciting dude…just using a digital SLR canon camera, shooting video with good lenses in 1920x1080 and documenting the good runs. I’m not so good with the video stuff yet…but the still photography will be pretty though lol

Mod list:

  • APR stage 2 V1 ECU tune (Running 93 tune)
  • APR Pulley
  • 034 Motorsports HFC
  • Milltek resonated Exhaust
  • Stratmosphere Air Intake
  • R8 18" light weight wheels
  • Stock Pzero tire

Best ET was 12.229 @ 113.35mph. I was sure I had a slip with a trap speed of 113.85mph but can’t seem to find it. I also attached a copy of another run were I didn’t have as good of a 60’ (1.763 compared to 1.729) but I recorded a better 1/8 (7.844 compared to 7.867) can anyone interperate what was going on there?

Also, I had full traction control off but when my wheels slipped the traction light would go off is that normal?

q1. Different lane maybe better grip at a certain spot? Also better driving might have something to do with it.

q2. Weird. When mine is all the way off I don’t think it ever kicks in but I have an rs4, which is legit all the way off. I bet the b8 can’t go all the way off…like the b7 a4,s4 couldnt … It just raises the threshold, but not off.
