I agree about the posts here. Quantity may not compare but the useful information here is great. Definitely helps that most of the more knowledgable guys are on here.
Stage I GIAC with headers and only 6300 rpm, making more power and gains than Stage II APR and 6900 rpm, yeah that dyno showed pretty well. But again, ink, paper, whatever, it’s just a dyno…
Nice video…fine, I think we’re OT until someone goes to the track with headers.
Yeah well_armed, it was sportbikes for me, I spent a decade terrorizing cottagers on the backroads up north and at the local road courses. My old track bike was set up so perfect, worked-on showa fork and a Penske racing shock with a custom linkage, I had gone through a couple revisions until it was right.
My old riding buddies are trying to get me to a track on two wheels. At 38 and two kids, I’ve graduated to the cage only at the track for a few years now, but they’re trying to pull me back in…
I may start MX-ing though, I spend time up north in the summer and it seems like something I’d rather be doing than risking my ass to pavement and armco…someone died pretty much every year on the road courses around here when I was riding.
Anyway that doesn’t show much about delta from decatting vs headers. Which is the point. I don’t think I’ve seen anything on the dyno that shows the headers add much over just hfc etc. Definitely not in acceleration results.
Lol, it must be late…look up Sak, the two dynos above, you asked what I meant by “the dyno for the headers shows well”. Anyhow, I’ve said multiple times I agree that you’ll probably get most of the benniffits with a cat delete, at least at stage II.
Also agree would be nice if everyone got their asses to the track.

Imola and I will go a few times together again this year… I’ll see if I can get him to go on the 13th when Thompson opens… Not sure will get a much better comparison than he and I have done in the past… Same day, same track, same time going down, basically same mods except headers vs HFC’s… He has the CPS now and LW brakes all around… Maybe he will gut the car again? LOL I’m sure it’s no where near as relevant as a good dyno though : J/K LOL…
What I like about dirt bikes, is that it is much slower speeds with dirt underneath you. Obviously you introduce jumping, which is very dangerous, but only if you are reckless.
A good thing to get into is trail riding. Basically like mountain biking with a motor, and just as physically demanding. That is my preferred way of mounting a bike these days…
When you see logs of your car, it frankly makes no sense how you go so fast. Here Clonchner is wondering why he only sees 15 psi…well what about you? Comparisons are futile…
Well_armed, yeah the bike decision between trail and MX is a big one. I’d probably stay on tracks though, I like having my comforts near me in my old age…
