B8 S4 headers bank or bust?

  1. good to see people caught on, but the motherfucker dyno’d +23 whp with headers + decat and CPS and catback…and is claiming this is all headers gain???

  2. the temperatures were hotter on teh after…but they were also aided GREATLY by a pretty hefty bolstering of the car’s cooling system. This can turn theoretical ambient into 50-60 degrees fahrenheit (equivalent) and in this case, the after had better conditions than the before (72 degrees with no cooling help).

  3. as a result of the number of mods between the before after, clearly you have to attribute the gains to that rather than just the headers (one of 4 changes)…yet the EuroCode knob is in there calling everyone haters? Is this guy for fucking real???

How are forum users smarter than the supposed ‘experts’? I can’t see why anyone would buy anything from these guys. Seriously. Someone needs to offer a better chassis brace that DOES NOT say EuroFail on it. They need to disappear.

Sorry to revive such and old and beloved thread but I figured it was worth it given this post… Best part is he had a post last night that he had the moderators delete… Wish I would have saved it as I swear the dynos got better, but not positive… He then reposted with all this Eurocode love… It’s as if they told him how to post, but I’m sure that wasn’t the case… Love how David really makes some valid points ::slight_smile: Yeah we are all haters David… What does Saki always say? Oh yeah, the only thing dyno’s prove is that ink sticks to paper…

Even setting aside the headers, sounds like the car is not running 100%. DA wasn’t great, but that still is a surprisingly slow time with his mods. Shuster went faster stock!

Brandon, totally agreed… I guess i could have started another thread… Something is obviously not right with the car and it’s probably more than the cel nor the fault of the headers… Driver? Fuel? Tune? Track? Other? Not sure… Hopefully he finds out and gets the car running more apprpriate times…

Ya wonder what’s going on there. But it’s good to note the cars that have run with headers. Like you said, there’s only so much warning you can give to someone. He had this whole thread here to review before dropping his money on a useless product.

My guess is he’s running the stock tune somehow… Vagcom session would tell for sure, which is what I told him…

In any event his results are shit for a $10,000 modlist. I’ve seen stock dsg cars trap the same in worse density altitude. Not sure what it is.

The code isn’t killing the car. Gmg is using that to explain away the results in all likelihood. As is the forum.

Andbwhy doesn’t he get a new frigging o2 sensor? $10,000 in mods but won’t buy an $80 o2 sensor? Or did I misunderstand that and he is getting a catalyst efficiency threshold code?

I did 12.2 with headers on the stock pulley, throwing Secondary O2 codes like gang signs all the way down the track. His car has a gremlin.
