Back from the track... thought I'd share

Oh I expect nothing less ;D

Ron did confirm with me regarding the new flashes… I’ll talk to Arin about getting a dual pulley flash

I hear you on the shifting though. I’ll continue to test my stock TCU… Really curious how the trans will behave with no bypass…

which launch method? LC? stomp-n-go?

I’m not liking the 4k dump on the GIAC DSG, its useless on the stock Dunlops with the Race file, spins and short-shifts at 5,500rpm on the 1-2. It does better in D or M using a “brake torque” method to rev it quickly to 2k and release the brake (like a traditional TC tranny) for a hard launch it seems.

I used the “stomp and go” method… I’m pretty convinced this is the best way to launch these cars.

It’s not quite a brake torque though… Primetime has done a great job of explaining this on here a few times but I’ll explain how I do it,

With the car in “D” or “S”: Pull up to the staging lanes and shallow stage as best you can… Meaning, trigger that first staging light and then ever so carefully creep forward to where you just barely trigger the second stage light (the key is to incrementally move forward to where you just barely trigger that second light)…

Now at this point, I have my left foot on the brake and I raise the brake pedal to the point where the car isn’t moving but it still stays stationary. I also have my right foot on the accelerator waiting… Wait for the lights to start going and on the third yellow, I simultaneously floor the accelerator while lifting the brake (one pretty fluid motion here)…

I’ve seen this method net primetime some insane 60’s. Looks like Jones (giac tuned) cut a 1.59 60 with the same method recently as well… Clearly works well and worth a try next time you are out there.
