I used the “stomp and go” method… I’m pretty convinced this is the best way to launch these cars.
It’s not quite a brake torque though… Primetime has done a great job of explaining this on here a few times but I’ll explain how I do it,
With the car in “D” or “S”: Pull up to the staging lanes and shallow stage as best you can… Meaning, trigger that first staging light and then ever so carefully creep forward to where you just barely trigger the second stage light (the key is to incrementally move forward to where you just barely trigger that second light)…
Now at this point, I have my left foot on the brake and I raise the brake pedal to the point where the car isn’t moving but it still stays stationary. I also have my right foot on the accelerator waiting… Wait for the lights to start going and on the third yellow, I simultaneously floor the accelerator while lifting the brake (one pretty fluid motion here)…
I’ve seen this method net primetime some insane 60’s. Looks like Jones (giac tuned) cut a 1.59 60 with the same method recently as well… Clearly works well and worth a try next time you are out there.
