Battery coding help

Hello,
I’m a complete newbie with VCDS and I need help.
Would the battery coding for my 2007 S6 be in 19 - CAN gateway or 61 - Battery Regulation ?
I asked many places, but half of ther people say 19, the other half 61…
If its in 19, my ‘Adaptation’ button is greyed out and I can’t click it. Some say I need to go in security access and log in and it will be avaiulable. Is that right?
Figured I shoudl’ve asked here from the beginning since its an S6 specific forum…
Thanks

As 2007 is a pre-facelift, it is in module 61

Neither the new or the old has a BEM sticker. Do I only need to change one number of the serial number and its fine?

It depends if the old battery was coded correctly, and if you now have the same size and type of battery, as you’ve had previously.

I believe the old battery was coded good (?)

Old battery is flooded lead acid and new one is AGM, so theres indeed a difference…

Old battery is group 95RS and new is group 49, but the physically appear the exact same size.

So I guess indeed I need to recode it good again, and do you think that might be the problem that I posted? A badly coded battery causing all those problems?

How would you code that in VCDS btw?

Since theres no sticker, I dont a a part number nor a serial number.

And battery Ah goes from 110 (old) to 100

Badly coded battery can’t really cause any problems other than wrong battery charging parameters leading to quicker battery wear.

Regarding coding procedure, see: https://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Battery_Replacement

Follow the procedure for module 61 only!

Now, there isn’t a code made for a 100Ah AGM battery, the closest one would be the ones for a 105Ah batteries, and these are: 4L0915105 / 000915105CF

Either of them should work.

As for the serial number, and vendor code, they don’t really matter. You can set any vendor.

For serial number, I personally use xxDxxMxxxxY - the date I install a new battery, replacing “x” with day, month, year etc. It coincidentally is an ideal lenght (serial number has to be 11 digits/letters)

Thank you, good advice.

And ross tech’s official battery coding video mentionned the possibility of dtc so thats why im asking. If it was so easy to resolve my issue, it wouldve been nice haha
