It’s about time to replace mine imo. Found this

Good deal on the interstate or stay away?

What batteries do you all run?

Thanks.

Just realized that the original picture I posted may not be showing for all people. Here’s a fixed one below.

Sorry

Bosch ftw imo. I just had an interstate or maybe it was duralast some similar crap battery die on me in 1.5 years in my cayenne. I am sure there are other good batteries out there though just my experience.

I was basically in the same situation as you were with the battery in my M6. Opted to save some money and went to Autozone and got a battery and did the install and registration of the new battery myself. It cranked longer and overall the car wasn’t happy that I skimped out on a non-AGM battery (Random voltage-related codes, etc). And it was also like 50 or 60 CCA lower than the battery it replaced.

Needless to say I got the correct battery this spring and all is well.

Running an H8 Size battery (Also called a group 49 iirc)

it’s an AGM, local battery company makes it, has a 5 yr replacement warranty and was $259CAD

There is a range of battery sizes that came from the factory in our cars. I believe it is related to the climate region of the market that the car was being sold into.

I am up in Canada and replaced mine a few months ago with a group 95R AGM battery. The guy at the parts counter tried to sell me an H8 because that is what was listed in their database. I brought him out to the car with a measuring tape to show him that an H8 would be about 1.5" too short. There is not enough adjustment range in the clamp and no other holes to bolt into for a shorter battery.
Make sure you check what size you have first before blindly buying a replacement

As far as batteries are concerned your looking for a few big things.

1 What the CC Amps and whats the resting Amps and voltage is.

Resting or rebound amps are not something normally advertised. Better batteries have a better draw rebound ability.

The 5.2 and a lot of Audi motors ECU systems are very amp and voltage prone to have issues. So you want a battery that can start the car and still hold over 12V.

2 obviously the size of the battery as you want it to fit in your allotted space.

When I get a battery. What I do is I talk my volt meter and test the resting batteries voltage. anything over 12.7 is good for me and usually makes for a good audi battery.

Very sensitive. I traced a misfiring issue to the battery not being up to snuff. It was hovering around 12.2v most of the time and would start the car even in -40C but was still the issue in the end.

And when you do buy a battery, be militant about it being a fresh battery. Store tried to sell me one that’s been sitting on their shelf for 2+ years. No way. I had them ordering one that was manufactured within the last month or two.

Thanks to all for the wealth of information.

I had definitely intended on getting an AGM when I saw the deal for the interstate battery at Costco. Was just curious if it was worth it for the cheap price. Y’all answered my question though. I will probably go with a Bosch since I have a Pepboys just a few miles away. I see Bosch makes a 950CCA AGM battery but Pepboys doesn’t show it in stock. I wonder if I can get them to order it? The biggest they have is a 850CCA in stock.

figured i’d bump this to see what else people found in terms of batteries. my battery is 100% toast due to a drain - can’t even recharge it.

the P/N installed on my car is 8K0 915 105 F, which does not appear to be an official Audi OE part (-C is). Battery is made by Varta, with the following PNs listed as compatible:

600 402 083

595 901 085

costco lists the following as compatible:

I keep telling everyone. Northstar AGM light weight battery for the win! Hands down everyday the clear winner
