My 7 year old battery died and I took it to Autozone for a new battery. In the process of replacing the battery, the BCM (part #1035500041) came loose from its attachment to the car body. So there was no negative ground. I couldn’t loosen the corroded bolts that attached to the car body so the workaround to get me home was to bypass the BCM entirely and ground it as in the photo (the wire at the bottom of the photo). No faults so far but bypassing the BCM seems like a bad idea. Any thoughts from the experts? Thanks.
