BBS wheels thread

I have to say I love the BBS CX-R I have on my car ($2250 for a set). They’re a very strong flow formed wheel from Japan made to BBS specs, and are actually stronger than most forged wheels (but not lighter). They weigh about 23 pounds in 19 x 8.5 and easily fit a 265 tire (or a 255 cup tire) with the proper bulge you see on motorsports cars like a Porsche GT. Not that there is anything wrong with stretch on the street, I just wouldn’t pick it for the the track.

The BBS FI-R takes it to a new level. In 19 x 9.5 they’re 16 pounds. They’re going to run closer to $7500 for a set when the first production run shows up in the US this month. It’s the little things that BBS gets right. I read about these morons on Audizine who go to the track and their center caps melt. Not with BBS. Quality throughout. Even the valve caps are like big thimble sleeves that cover all of the black rubber on the stem. The machining on the spokes is a work of art that’s hard to appreciate in an iPhone photo downsized for a free forum.
