Blackberry Z10 is actually legit!

Totally not related to me going to get my car carbon cleaned or putting the summer wheels on, but I have the new Blackberry Z10 and its actually legit compared to the Galaxy S3 I had (but cracked).

all I have heard is good things about it from the three people I work with who bought one.

I would still bet heavily against it surviving (the company) as anything other than a low cost provider in the third world. Once business accounts started leaving, and going byod or whatever else, the writing was on the wall.

They won’t capture the personal market the way they used to.

P. S. Are you getting a cc done? Diy?
We should race after. See the change.

After using Blackberry exclusively for the last five years (I used to work for a company that developed Blackberry software), I just traded my Torch in today, and bought a Samsung Note II. The thing is huge, but the touch screen seems very easy to use, and all functions are super fast. It is definitely going to take some time to get used to it.

My three options were the Z10, the iPhone 5, and the Note II. I couldnt think of a time where the size of the Note would be a problem, so I decided to give it a go.

The note phones seem crazy big before you own one, and for the first few days after you do… But after a couple of weeks you will probably tell people that you will never own a small phone again.

Guy at work has a Note 2. It fits in a scrub pocket and is the perfect size for looking up medical type stuff. Not to mention snappy.

The Z10 is a neat phone. Tried one out in the mall. I’ll be curious to see the Q10. I still haven’t really become as comfortable on a touch screen as I was on the physical keys if my old E71.

Can’t wait to get my Z10 and ditch my iphone 5!

The QNX backbone of the new bb10 OS is the future of mobile computing. The M2M capabilities are amazing and any current player in the space will be hard pressed to provide similar functionality…

What’s m2m

It stands for “Machine to Machine” communication.

It’s actually amazing how many industries utilize the QNX platform, including automotive… on star… yup that’s QNX…

Unfortunately for Blackberry, it will be very hard to win back many of the customers that they have lost over the years. They have a history of bringing devices to market that are incomplete, buggy, and just plain clunky.

When the Torch came out, it was touted as the Blackberry device that was going to change everything. I paid big bucks for it when it was first released, and expected a top notch device. It has been a let down in a lot of ways, and I regretted getting it when I could have bought the iPhone. One of my biggest gripes with the phone was the lack of app support. All I wanted was a simple car performance app (like Dynolicious or aDyno), but nothing was ever released for the Torch.

When you have burned your customers over the years by not doing your absolute best to bring them a top consumer device, people dont forget that over night. Blackberry ruled the market five years ago, and has absolutely no excuse for letting everything fall apart.

Their Z10 may be an incredible device. However, I’m not willing to lock myself into another BB on a three year contract that may end up being a disappointment. There is a lot more to a device than the sum of it’s features.

Blackberry as a company reminds me of an old ex-girlfriend who wants another chance, after burning you in the past. They tell you, ‘no, I’ve changed. Things will be so much better this time around’. But youve heard that before. And while they may in fact be putting forth a real effort this time, you don’t really care because they already had their chance the first five times around, and couldnt make it work then. Time for something new.
