Awesome work guys, and congrats to Pete/pops/Tsivas for breaking 11.5…
I keep thinking about drag as Baro pressure goes up. I know some people are so focused on DA they forget this. Ron, you’re typically dealing with 29-ish in.Hg while they are 30.44, I’d bet if you ran out to top speed you’d see at least 5 mph difference in your favor.
Anyhow what you Ron lose in hp and thus ET you would definitely gain over the greek boys over 100 mph.
Don’t forget the F1 cars were in Mexico a few weeks ago, and were running Monza top speeds 350+ km/h with Monaco angles of wing (basically max) due to Mexico City elevation. It’s an extreme example but worth noting, and they have a fixed turbo speed so elevation does impact them.
When you ran the 11.46 this was earlier in the left lane when track prep was fresh and with fronts at 34-35 and rears at 32-33 psi ? as you drop the pressure lower to get traction you could only yield the 11.5 ? Trying to figure out how much this tire pressure played a roll. Low 20’s seems pretty flippin low on street tires.
I heard your car run a few times and it sounded like trans was slipping on 3-4 shifts. I don’t have adjustable launch, car always launches at 4k, never had one issue with slip or with the launch. I think APR is launching too high and not cutting timing for long enough between shifts.

If he activates AMAX mode there is NO timing drop they dump 10-20% boost as oppose to cut timing… It’s faster that way but your points on their LC at least for my car are valid…
I was using smash and go method as per Primetime but a couple of times I might have gotten overzealous and jumped on the throttle a little early. Logs show some launches at 5K from idle so I could’ve held brake a little longer then usual. Timng and boost were on point since I got the V3.1 revision but the runs you see here I forgot to group them, oops… I will send them to Ron to look at and analyze them. I spoke to a couple of people and as I suspected dsg was overheating for some reason. After letting her sit for about an hour car ran well for two runs then started to go into limp mode and shift at 5k 3-4 shift… Don’t know why this is happening but I’ll take it to the guys and have them lol it over and 99.9% do the service also just in case the fluid has degraded for some reason. Chime in if this is happening to you. I also posted the other slips on the 1/4 mile thread if anyone wants to look at therm.
Since you have LC I think only AMAX is activated when you use LC… I don’t have LC so APR did something to make it so I go into AMAX mode with my launch technique…
No issues with my tranny fluid but I had it changed this year, it’s got maybe 500 miles on it… lol
yeah, there’s another dude on AZ I think who posted 11.8X but I don’t know his modlist? That list over there is getting really weird. Guys aren’t posting much detail and are getting added. Other guys aren’t getting added at all.
Sean was saying over on AZ that using your method would trigger AMAX with just their standard DSG tune. I think the idea being that touching the brake and gas at the same time, even slightly, triggers what they consider to be launch control (whether it actually ups the RPM’s or not). Accordingly, it would also up the LC counter on 2011+ cars.
If you only use one foot to go from brake to gas to mash the gas pedal it will not trigger AMAX, LC, or the counter… Which makes sense.
Unrelated, but did you guys see the times 034 posted on their stage 1 car? They were in the 12.1-12.2 range on their beta 100 octane file (-1000 to -1200 DA). Apparently all the car really had was a beta intake (3D plastic printed?), and their beta DSG tune they were also testing. Any way, should be interesting to see what JHM and 034 bring to the table. I did like the fact that they at least posted a lot of time slips. Something some of these other tuners that have been around for years have yet to do, so kudos to them for that at least…
I don’t now for sure, but… They said they bought the equipment to tune the Simos 8.x and MED9 themselves (3.0 TFSI and 2.5 TFSI), and someone mentioned Christian as doing some of the tuning. They acted like they are doing this all in house, and it also being why APR gave them the boot as an authorized dealer. Their first project being the TT-RS and their RS500 kit, and now moving on to the S4/S5.
Edit: They also said it would be user flash-able once the initial flash was done at a 034 dealer.
you guys are lucky with those DA’s! still muggy here in the tampa-bay FL region. Maybe I’ll go out the PBIR since i’ll be at west palm beach for the week and magically drop my ET’s by half second (lol)…
