Boom!!! New B8 Stage II S4 ¼ mile ET record, 60ft , and overall trap record!

So was hoping to do some other testing today but do to some logistical challenges APR couldn’t get me the new tunes this week… That will happen next week! Rained last night but it cleared and sure enough Thompson was open… Headed out first thing this morning…

My Car: 2010 Audi S4 - DSG with sports dif, 9,540 miles, 1/4-1/8 tank of gas, tools and spare removed

Mods: APR tune, APR DSG tune with LC disabled, APR pulley, JHM overdrive crank pulley, LFC’s, miltek non-res exhaust, custom intake, APR CPS, front and rear sways, Alu Kruez, Brembo BBK, JHM LW rear rotors, BBS CHR’s, tire pressure 32F 28R

Conditions: 42F, 30.28BP, and 73% humidity for a DA of 70!

Made a total of 8 passes today… Hardly anyone there so I hotlapped all of those and left, was almost out of gas… lol As mentioned above no LC all runs were launched off idle. DSG tune still needs one more revision as the launch is perfect and the car goes in AMAX mode, 1-2 shift is perfect, 2-3 hung up everytime(bad sometimes), 3-4 is perfect, and the 4-5 is the worst. You’ll see when I post the go pros… I did shift manually from 4-5 which helped… Still think this is costing me close to a tenth!

New ¼ mile ET record for stage II – 11.5047 oh so close to 11.4xx

New 60ft record = 1,5989 60ft Probably more stoked about that! This car just launches and FUCK LC!!! LOL

New best trap speed of 123.13MPH! Had a few 122’s and 121’s as well…

Thanks man! Wish you could have been here today… Conditions were near perfect… Great track prep, sun was out so even though it was cold the track had some heat, and the DA was awesome! I drove around for a few minutes before I started making passes and got the tires warm which helped. Set a/p pretty low given the temp an it worked well… As mentioned I was able to hot lap which totally helps… Really near perfect day! I’ll send the crew the logs once I look at them…

Also, check out the third video, car kind of went into limp mode… No CEL but I’m going to scan here in a little…

I appreciate it… Yeah, the 2nd fastest pass was really moving at the 1.8th as I was on pace for 11.44ish if you use the 1.55 multiplier… Shoulda coulda woulda but still a very nice 1/8th time… Yeah like I said I’m more stoked on the 60ft time… Raced several trailored cars and beat them all… lol Oh and thanks for sharing it on the other site…

Yeah, I think both the 60’ and trap are nuts. It definitely tells us there is a 11.4 in there. Exciting times, and looking forward to more. I know you’re glad to get some new things to play around with…

That is just awesome!! That trap speed and 60 is nuts. Congrats! 11.4 is definitely possible with the shifts sorted out. Hats off to jones and you for testing this new route. Gonna be a great season for our platform

Excellent time and trap. Weird how erratic your trap speeds are. Any thoughts on that? 123 vs. 121 and dead on the same ET.

Then teh 118? Is the disparity just wonky bad shifts?

All around great time and trap speed despite the TCU. Can’t wait to see what the car does with an Audi transmission tune back in place.

Will13k7, Thanks man! Pulley is definitely helping quite a bit, but the v3.1 was a nice improvement in itself as I trapped 120.86 w/o pulley on the tune… DA was huge today…

J, I’ll send the logs over… Got 5 of the 8 passes only as for some reason the last 3 didn’t save? Got the wonky one, look at that one. I’m still WOT and it totally kills timing and dumps 70% of the boost then timing spikes… Very interesting… The other show bypassing boost not a ton but enough… iats never see 70 even top 4th… Seems like on the AMAX shifting when it hesitates it cuts even more boost… good timing… Needs more requested boost!

Saki, Thanks! Nah, the tcu stays until we get it fixed… APR did NOT update this week so it’s the same as before I just started manually shifting 4-5.

Believe it or not the manual 4-5 shift and shifting 6800ish hundred netted the higher traps and better et’s… Some of the disparity is the hangup in 2-3 and how bad it is… Hoping Ryan took some gopros so I can see how his shifts are at the strip…

It’s better than most but it still bounces a little it’s tough to hear with the car I’m going against… Watch closely you can see it visibly as well… I shifted on my own for the 4-5, probably just 200 or so to soon…

Soooo once again I screwed up the gopro vids. Shocker right? When I was checking into the dragstrip, the announcement came over that they were ready to start racing, so I was in a hurry and rushed to up the gopro, and didn’t check the setting. So lets just say I have a lot of pictures of my first 2 runs! I did eventually figure it out and got 3 vids.

DA was around -800 42degrees First 4 runs track prep was awesome and I was able to hot lap. After that it got busy and I starting spinning. I definnitly need new tires, so hopefully will do soon. I agree with Ron, the TCU tune still needs some adjustment. After my 5th run it really started to act up.
Sorry Ron for hijacking your thread. I just didn’t want to start a thread, since no one wants to read about a 11.56 car when they can read about Ron’s 11.50!
BTW I am on stock cats, and JHM lightweight crank pulley(not oversize one) Here are my first 4 runs…

Holy crap what a rocketship. 11.5 a 121. U guys all make me want a tune. Did your ecu need to be reflashed with the jhm pulley or no?
