Boom!!! New B8 Stage II S4 ¼ mile ET record, 60ft , and overall trap record!

Awesome Ron, you are killing it these days.

Great stuff, Ron. Congrats!

k9lovr, thanks man! No clue on what JHM’s doing… Hopefully, Saki spills the beans vs the tease?

Mike, Thanks! Not done yet, should go lower soon…

Ken, Thanks bud!

yes hopefully.

LOL! If someone else teased like that you’d be all over them… So will this go down in MI this weekend at the track day per your mention in the TMP thread? What track and what day?

bullshit

If someone had something on their car and teased it and hid it, sure I’d be all over it (like jones with his pulley). But if someone teased information about a company’s product development, sure I’d want to know but I wouldn’t be all over them. I’d ask, but if they weren’t sharing, I’d ask the company.

aka you teasing stage 3 shit and TCU shit over a year ago and not sharing anything. Nobody badgered you. You were asked, you made it clear you weren’t sharing, and everyone forgot about it.

As I said, I didn’t even know they had a tune in development until I learned about that pulley. That’s clearly a way to go stage 2 without buying an APR or GIAC tune. Anyone can see that is their foray into tuning a 3.0T.

As for when they’ll show a time, I have no idea. I imagine it will be in California where they would own a B8 S4 (anyone checked the lots yet?).

For perspective, they ran 10.7 @ 130 in an RS4 in 2013…and just sent me the timeslip and modlist data last week. They ran 11.6 @ 118 on pump gas and a RS4 stage 1 $7900 supercharger kit + $1000 downpipes, and never shared it with the market because they had 95 octane in the car and didn’t think it was legit as it wasn’t pump gas. They could have posted either one of those things day one and just blown their own horn and bitchslapped the competition, but they didn’t.

they play their cards REALLY close to their chest.

Want a tune and a TCU that works? call Kurt and see what’s up. If not, keep on keeping on and post that 11.3 that I know your car has in it.

Ha! I knew that comment would fire you up ;D That’s all I needed to hear was just curious not trying to be an ass… Thanks for clarifying…

WOW, good job man! 11.50 is killer!!!

Overdrive pulley is on the website now for anyone to snatch up while still on intro pricing:

Shared this in the 1/4 thread for you

Thanks Jake! Much appreciated… Anything else you want to share about JHM tuning these cars? lol ;D

bugger

123 MPH…isn’t that what the no exhaust/no seats/no production pulley/no production tune Stage 3 car trapped?

It’s funny because in the discussion around Jones’ car, who trapped 121 MPH on his record pass, I was saying that he should be able to hit 123 MPH in 0 feet of DA. Now primetime has gone ahead and done that.

The stage 2+ vs. stage 3 case is looking very bad for stage 3

nice pulley, wish i had one

hehe ;D

Prime. Would you feel comfortable putting your thoughts on the expected differences between stage 2 and 2+

Sure… I assume when you say stage II to stage II+ you mean the crank pulley mod… Anyway, I haven’t driven the car much but to the track made passes and back home. The car is definitely stronger given the 1/4 mile times, 60ft and trap. I’m in the office so I don’t have the slips in front of me but I believe everyone of them was 1.64 or better, so the tq is showing up down low. With the pulley spinning the blower faster at all rpm’s and it’s making more power everywhere in the power band. To me it’s noticeable at the strip not sure how much the average person would notice on the street but it’s there… Long term it’ll be interesting probably not for me but others who run the dual pulley and run it as a daily driver to see if there are any issues blower wise, crank wise, etc. I don’t think so unless someone or some tuner gets stupid. To me it’s a very worthwhile mod and fairly cheap to make some additional power, again probably not for everyone but those who want to go for the top times it’s going to be needed…

You never cease to amaze, Ron. Nice work buddy! I’m glad to see you pushing the boundaries of this platform as well as others like Jones and a few others in the community.

I’m always in search of squeezing the last drop that I can while maintaining a relatively comfortable level of risk as I daily my car, but my margins are higher than most since I am quite modded so I can sustain a little more than the average. With that, running doubled up with the oversized JHM and the smaller supercharger pulley on a daily, what specific cons would you (or anyone else welcomed to chime in) foresee? What strains and stresses would you see and where would you see them, and what concerns would you most likely want to pay most attention to? All with the understanding that any mods comes with an equal amount liability in itself. Just want to be prepared, since you guys make this look so good and I can’t resist going for it and more power!

Thanks man! Just out there having fun… Really more kudos to the folks making the parts I’m just driving… lol Again, I do appreciate it…

As for running the pulley I think the risk is low if you are smart about it… The blower is definetly getting spun more than it should but if you do it in short bursts it shouldn’t be a problem. I wouldn’t advise some highway blast holding 150mph for a few minutes on a summer day… Keeping an eye on the IAT’s will be key as well especially in the summer… I’ve so far only driven in good cool air so I’ll have to wait until next summer before I can see how fast the IAT’s climb. For someone like Jeff/S4matty running w/m I doubt they’ll ever have an issue especially once the tune gets tweaked… If I were going to run the pulley on a daily I’d probably go the w/m route to be honest… So basically as far as concerns mostly IAT’s in the summer and the long term health of the blower, but I think that is a smaller concern. Just my .02 and I don’t have many miles so Jeff could probably speak better to it as he’s been running it a while…

Oh and my short term concerns are getting a tune that doesn’t bypass boost! ;D

This is what concerns me, I use my car as a DD, otherwise I would have snapped this us already

Ron,

What fuel did you run on these passes?

I usually run VP MS109 like many guys. However, if the track is open this weekend I am going to try Sunoco 260 GT Plus. It seems to have a little higher stoich Rating, however I am not sure how much this actually plays into the mix.

Race Gas Stoich Ratings
VP MS109 - 13.41
Sunoco 260 GT Plus – 13.7

Madman, I’ve been using Sunoco gt260+"… Car seems to perform better with it over ms109… She’ll urt was the best but it’s not available anymore… Golf Mach is also very good but I can’t find it around here… Try to gt260+…
