So had no plans to race today… Actually Glenn wanted to come down and I told him the car was not in running conditions since I still had the e85 tune but no hpfp as I sent it back to APR… I was basically planning for next year when APR asked late yesterday if I was ready for a new tune and new tcu tune… Fuck yeah I am! I immediately emailed Glenn and let him know but he couldn’t make it… So we got the car flashed last night and I ran through all the E85 and put in race gas… Well then I woke up and it was snowing… lol However, it ended quickly and dried up as well as not hitting Thompson so I called and yep they were open… There was literally 10-20 cars there… lol They made an annoucement that only slick cars could use the right lane and then they notcied me and they then repeated only slick cars in the right lane and the fast Audi could use it also… I lol’ed…

So the first two passes I wheel hopped bad as the track was cold and the tires weren’t warm… I warmed them coming back each time so they finally had some heat in them… Below are the best two runs… I’ll be honest the car shifted horribly… I thought there is NO way in hell I’m setting the record today… I’ve already traded emails with APR and they’re determined to get the dsg tune right… I think they realize as I do that this is a 11.3x car with proper shifts … I improved on the front of the track and regressed on the back half… My traps and back half times are off and IMO it’s the shifts…

I’m pretty certain this was aimed at APR and I… I’ll be honest this is really a funny point to make… You’re right Austin, I run and have run many beta files that APR has created. Almost all of these have resulted in changes in APR’s production software to improve the tune for everyone as these changes trickle down to production upgrades. They’ll be offering a 2 pulley file soon, how about GIAC? E85 tune? APR will… This has been done at my risk all along and I have paid for EVERY part APR has ever supplied me with. It’s really a shame that you and your company doesn’t offer the same respect to folks like Jeff and Pete given they are all about making you guys look good and test the shit out of their cars like I do… I’m glad to know I picked a tuner who is open to feedback, critique/criticism, and who is willing to continouly improve their tune. It’s a shame you guys don’t have that same approach…
I also want to thank the guys at APR again! Cars not where I want it nor where they want it but they’re determined to get it right… GO APR!
