I have recently had a problem with my brake light going out after the car runs for about 2-5 minutes. I took the housing apart and it looks like the plastic right where the pc board and tail lights meet has melted. Do I have any options other than buy a new housing? I don’t see any immediate issues after opening the house. Maybe there’s a way to separate the housing more so to get to the pc board itself and look for an issue?
I think the only solution is to buy a new taillight (ebay?). I ended up needing to replace both of my taillights over time.
Same here, replaced driver side. Looked almost exactly like yours.
I was just about to make a post about this. Had the exact same issue. Before you buy a new taillight try cleaning the contacts for the ground wire of the LEDs with sandpaper. It worked for me so far. It seems that the grounds get burnt out over time.
Looks too late for his. Board and plastic has melted.
Or are you saying yours looked that bad too?
My plastic started melting too. But so far it’s still working.
