Because all the characters are morons to make the show more dramatic. I think the son is the only character that’s actually relatively smart and normal. Everyone else is just fucked up and they keep making the worst decisions (if they made proper decisions, I guess the show wouldn’t be as dramatic and interesting to all the people that love to see this stuff).
I did. The only thing that surprised me was Walt begging for Hank’s life.
I keep thinking today about the present-day scene from a few episodes ago. Where is Walt going with the shotgun…to try to free Jesse or something (now that we know what happened to him)? Kill Todd? Maybe a year later he’s trying to fix whatever he can?
The m60 in the trunk… I think he’s going back to get vengeance on uncle Jack. Jack is probably going after the family for some reason, maybe trying to wipe away any suspected witnesses that were aware of the Hank-Walt relationship. I’m thinking Walt already assumes Jesse is dead but he’s still alive because Todd has been using him to make the blue stuff.
Marie/Skyler is going to kill Walt. Just you watch.
Ha you guys…this thread is one big spoiler, no worries…
Hmmm on the Marie/Skyler. Maybe! Marie can be a complete badass when she needs to be…
Did you see the theory about Walt…that he already killed Skye?
Here…pasted from the interwebs:
In Breaking Bad, Walt has a habit of taking on some little traits of the people he has killed.
When Walt killed Crazy 8, he started cutting off the crusts of his sandwiches – just as Crazy 8 had done. Gus drives a Volvo. After Walt kills Gus, at the beginning of Season 5 (at the Denny’s), Walt is driving a Volvo (w/ NH plates). When Mike and Walt meet at a bar in an earlier season, Walt orders his drink neat while Mike has his on the rocks. After Mike is killed, and Hank offers Walt a drink in his office – he asks for it on the rocks.
At that same scene at Denny’s, Walt arranges his bacon into his new age. Someone else used to do that. On top of that, he’s using Skyler’s maiden name on his fake ID.
Based on his history of picking up traits from his victims – I believe Walt is going to murder Skyler before the series is over, and it probably had already happened before he showed up at the Denny’s in the Season 5 cold open.
Theres also the Czech Republic buyers paying for the meth. They could be going after Walt’s family to get Walt back since they can’t find him after he goes MIA.
Yeah, Lydia is in this for a reason. I could see her going after Skyler for some reason. Maybe Jesse kills Todd and the whole meth business is in shambles without a cook working things. Lydia (probably working with Jack) lures Walt back with Skyler’s death and he goes on a rampage.
OR
Jesse is being tortured and cooks the blue stuff. Walt somehow comes across the blue stuff and knows Jesse is the only one capable. Walt goes back to kill Todd and Jack for not doing the job he paid them to do (and lost 70million over). Walt goes badass mode and for some reason decides to spare Jesse’s life OR Jesse kills him.
I am disappointed they dropped the badass chemistry from the show. The stuff they did was fantastic, entertaining, for the most part, actual chemistry, you could tell they had a real set of chemist consultants helping them. The whole idea of how they crystallize is sound…lol there are many times at my work where pharmaceuticals won’t crystallize until you get a little bit of dirt in there, we joke about opening the tank and coughing inside.
I work with numerous organic chemists daily, all of them love the show. Outside of work one of my better friends is probably the most brilliant chemist (person?) I know, i swear he’s Walt White in real life. He quit his pharmaceutical job over a dozen years ago because his boss (a fellow he worked with in post-doc whom he despised) told him he took too long for lunch that day. He has all the same personal issues walt has, including the intellectual superiority he thinks he has, and frustration with others that Walt feels. I talk with him at length about the chemistry involved in the show too, it’s great. Dude feels like they stole his character, except that he doesn’t cook meth, but he’s synthesized other “stuff” at home back in the day. After 10 years off, he went back to work for a contractor lab that analyses and synthesizes “defense” chemicals.
For those who don’t watch, you gotta respect Cranston. Genius.
Yeah I was reading up on the show and they indeed had chemist consultants. They also had the DEA teach Cranston (and possibly others) how to cook methamphetamine in order to make it as authentic as possible; he even admitted to cooking at least one real batch of the stuff under DEA supervision.
I was walking into my building a few months back and saw an extremely recognizable guy round the corner as I did. The second he passed, I realized it was Bogdan (eyebrows) from Season 1.
