Does anyone have any experience swapping them out with the stock seats on the B8?

I really wished they offered the recaros here. I want to run a harness so that I don’t have to keep propping my knees against the door or center console mid corner. I experienced a full race bucket with a 5pt harness in rally school a while back and it was awesome.

I’m wondering what kind of air bag error the car would throw and if there’s any complications with the power seats and heaters being unhooked. If it’s just an ass error code that does nothing more, then I can just clear with with vagcom. Wondering if anyone else has done it.

Or maybe I’m the first (or one of the first) guy to try and tackle it on (kinda like brake ducts on the S4).

Loads of RS4 guys did it. RS5 should be similar process.

They get stolen in about 3 minutes from RS4/5 cars in the UK, through the passenger side windows, so install should be a breeze.

The RS4 seats aren’t full power, so you lose a bunch of functionality there. Memory gone, etc.

On the way to work today I was thinking I wouldn’t mind getting the buckets because manual adjustment seats can be lowered WAY more than electric. I could use a couple of inches of headroom.

You a tall guy? If you’re fat, don’t bother…they’re super snug.

Does your RS5 have a FBSW?

What does a job like that cost? Parts and labor.

You can DIY it in your sleep.

The cost is the seats. Generally about $5000 plus getting them here. You might get lucky and find some that are already imported etc.

How much are the euro option recaros for the RS4? I remember the RS5 ones were pretty expensive. But that was from europrice LOL!!! I was looking into fixed back bucket seats with a fixed mount - because race car.

Yes, the RS5 has a fbsw.

That’s pricey. But probably worth it if you’re a road course guy.

They were included on the RS4 I believe. You could choose bucket or comfort. They’re both made by Recaro, FYI.

As far as buying them new, they’re a million dollars. When these guys’ cars get them stolen, the cars are sometimes a write off. Quotes from Audi for new RS4 Bucket seats are in the 10,000 pounds range.

You can buy them on ebay, and generally that is on ebay.de (Germany). They go for around 3000 Euros, and shpping will be around 500 more. So about $5,000.

Man… I really wish it was an option here… Grr… What sucks more is that the RS5 seats here is the exact same one on the B8 S4… I think Magna makes them (at least that’s what I read somewhere).

I didn’t mean it as a look down lol. It’s just the same seat I had on the B8 S4. I really wanted a more track oriented seat.

The RS4 buckets with leather/race cloth are especially rare.
