So I found someone selling carbon fiber hoods (per order) for the C6 and now that’s one more thing to add to the list of possible future mods… $680 for the hood plus $250 shipping to US customers…

most CF hoods are also fiberglass with just a top layer of CF; they not autoclaved or vacuum formed parts. (not that it’s a bad thing). Aeropins on this would be a must IMO. Vented would be pretty nice 
There’s another company on there that makes them with vents but I think that hood has a bit too much going on. I’ll look tomorrow to see if I can find it or the pictures again.
Forgot all about that. I guess that pretty much makes it a deal breaker for me. I’d want it to look clean like the stock hood, but made of carbon fiber. Guess I’ll just stay stock for awhile and revisit the idea later.
You would deffinitly need hood pins several guys have tried the non pin route only to have there hoods leave the car or smash the windshield.
Also I dont know for 100% sure but I think the S6 hood is aluminum so it shouldnt weigh very much anyway.
Yeah after you guys mentioned it, I don’t know how I overlooked the hood pin requirement. I guess I’ll just wait and think about it. Maybe I’ll change my mind and get some flush mount pins later.
Yeah the TC Concepts hood is fiberglass (as far as I know) and they’ve yet to produce or offer a carbon fiber variant.
