Fantastic, I’ll get one ordered as soon as I figure out what I’m allocating where cash-flow-wise. Sounds like this should be number 1 though. Next I’ll dig into the ABS module, and then I’ll have some fun!
Kind of a side note, and complete newby question I could answer with google I suppose… would this software/cable be able to modify things like my maximum speed limiter and such?
that cable is the right one. The money seems like a lot until you get to use it and you realize all it can do. so its well worth it and that will be able to help you when want to fix your ABS module
As for speed and stuff thats much more complicated then what vag com can do. but if you want a tune it looks like there is going to be a super solid one from jhm here soon
The other day, I did a U-Turn in 1st gear, straightened the car out, and floored it. 1st to 2nd shifted fine at redline, but when I got to 6000 RPM’s the car stopped accelerating. I shifted as a result, and everything was fine. No CEL, no lights of any kind. The car’s display acted as if nothing happened before and after.
The loss of acceleration felt like it did when my EPM (I think that’s the acronym–the one for the fuel system) came on from when some line wasn’t secured properly when I picked my car up from my carbon intake clean.
Just one more thing to add to the list to check out after I get my cable probably?
Yes when you get vagcom you will have a much different relationship with the car. You will be able to check and see if the car placed any codes for events like you mentioned. Thats why I suggest you get the good cable from them and spend the few extra dollars.

Nate, when you get the vagcom you can see what ABS unit you have there are several part numbers for the ABS controller based on options installed on the car you can use that to find a low mileage replacement to save some money.
Sorry for recent inactivity guys–I started a new job 2 months ago (went from a retail assistant store manager to a personal banker, so it’s been a bit hectic). Gunna start diggin’ in soon though, I’ll post the codes hopefully in the next day or 2
I ran some codes on the car, but there are so many options to the types of codes I can run I wasn’t sure what to run. I ran a couple of Auto Scans and I’ll attach them here.
There has been another development on the car (oh joy): seemingly at random, the “BRAKE” light on the dash will beep 3 times and flash indefinitely until the car is turned off and all electronics shut down. If I turn the car off and back on without opening the door (therefore shutting off electronics), the brake light will continue to flash. The light generally comes on during or shortly after a turn, but not always; it can come on just during standard driving, but the car never turns on from a new “boot” (sorry, computer terminology is all I’ve got, heh) with the brake light on.
The site is saying the upload folder is full, so I’m linking these through OneDrive (Microsoft’s cloud server). They’re .txt files so they’re safe.
