What size is the piping and what was stock?

From what I understand, stock is 2.25. Milltek is 2.36

I may be interested in this. I’ve been working to determine whether it will fit the A6 for a while now as I have the S6 rear bumper and valance and Stasis isn’t really cutting it. Any chance you know if the Milltek will fit?

Sorry, I can’t say.

When I went to sell my stock S6 exhaust, I thought someone with an A6 might pick it up and try and make it work. However, no one could confirm that it would fit.

On the C5 A6s, the catback from the 2.7 will fit the 4.2, and even line up with the RS6. But no one has tried on the C6 platform.

So, you could…

  • Buy this, and if it doesnt work then resell.
  • Buy and if it doesnt fit, then modify to fit.
  • Buy my stock S6 exhaust with quad tips, and try that. They sound pretty badass with the resonators removed, and it would be a lot cheaper experiment.
  • Go custom

I wouldn’t. An exhaust tuned for v8 sound might be horrendous on a v6.

To be honest I don’t think stasis isn’t cutting it. It’s the 3.0t sound and it isn’t likely to change much.

I would stay stock personally.

How about one tuned for a v10 on a v6! LOL

I agree. You would be better off with custom then starting with parts designed for an NA engine with almost double the displacement and cylinders.

I’ve had custom 2.5" w/x-pipe. Then removed the rear mufflers for quad tips, likely damaged my hearing, and then ordered Stasis. Had it for about 2 years now. Stasis sounds decent but it’s only 2.25" piping… aka stock S4 diameter. Additionally, the way it sits, quad tips won’t fit so my rear valance isn’t completely filled out.

Ah, OK. This one is not a lot bigger at 2.36.

Anyway, if you want it just send me a PM and we can arrange a Paypal payment. Also available for local pickup in Toronto, Canada.

Cheers!
Michael

At the moment, I’m going to pass. I already have too much car crap sitting around. Thanks though and good luck!

No problem Dude!

Ha good point. Funny how I slipped that. The absurdity of the v10 being in there is easy to forget.

I find myself looking for a nice S6 5.2 online weekly. They’re unfortunately all highass mileage and old. 2008 is down to low $20s now though… Awesome.

Would like to find a nice low mile facelift.

That would be awesome! DO IT! LOL

If I had know you had a serious interest in them, then I would have forwarded you some nice ones. Now I am going to be bugging you every few weeks with a new C6 S6 deal.

I am not really a fan of the facelift exterior on the S6. In fact, I much prefer the pre-facelift

  • I like the PF wheels better
  • I like the PF tail lights better (they give the rear a wider look)
  • I like the PF placement of the rear trunk molding strip better
  • I like the PF shape of the trunk lid better (angled at the lower corners
  • I like the PF lower diffuser better

And that is about all they changed on the S6 exterior

I even like the PF S6 rear better than the new S6 rear

However, I think the facelift cars get the 3g MMI which is probably a lot nicer.

There was one really nice 08 in dark grey with black interior at a VW dealership. It was posted one day after I got mine. I really wanted black on black for the plans that I had for the car, but this one would have made the decision really hard.

With the overly smooth lines of the car, I felt that it needs something to differentiate it from the boring A6 that an Accountant would drive (no offense to Accountants). A totally blacked out black car, along with a aggressive exhaust, should set it apart from the other ‘classy’ A6s out there. That’s my idea, anyway.

Instead of spending low 20s on one, I suggest picking up one with a bit higher mileage for mid to low teens, and then having CV do an overhaul of everything with the extra cash in pocket. Most of the high mileage cars that I saw were all stock and mint. The typical S6 owner does all the maintenance at the dealer, and at 150-200k kms, you are probably only at half the life of the car. My C5 S6 is approachine 350k, and is faster than my C6!

Anyway, if you haven’t picked one up by early 2014, Im going to do my best to talk you into one once I get my car back from CV. It should really be one incredible, and unique machine.

BTW, the engines on these cars must be pretty solid, as there are always several to choose from at the wreckers. The prices on them have been coming down, and I just saw a running one go for $3k complete last week.

That is another reason I like the high mileage, and cheaper, ones better. Id rather save the extra cash, pick up a spare engine, and send it to JHM for a rebuild ready to take FI down the road. Anyway, that is the long term plan.

BTW, CV probably has a few pics he could share with you that would have you even more interested in the C6 S6

He did lol
I agree the earlier ones look better. I just was looking at a newish one still in warranty so that any problems have been fixed.

Not selling my rs4 but I think they’re cool cars.

The pre-face lift S6 looks like a bigger B6 S4 rear end with the tail lights on the side and the bumper being two tone silver and grey. The face lift S6 is more like the B7 style back end with the lights on the trunk lid.

Yeah, no way I would sell the RS4. I don’t think I would ever give up a B7 RS4 if I had one. The more I learn about them, the more I think that they are something really special. Every time I see someone putting theirs up for sale, I think to myself, they are making a mistake they are going to regret. It would be a car I would keep until it dies.

With the prices dropping on the S6s, I was thinking you would just add one to your collection. My guess is it wont be long until they start hitting sub-$10k on the used market. I think people are afraid of the v10 cars when it comes time to fix them, when they hit high mileage. And, the stock performance of the S6 doesnt draw in many enthusiasts, like most of the other S cars do, or the old RS6.

The C6 S6 is kind of funny, in that I believe it has the potential to be a great car, but in stock form is a bit disappointing. The fact that the stock 3.0 A6s come pretty close, if not equal, to the same performance, make it a hard sell.

Maybe if JHM can come out with a really nice ECU and TCU tune that could awaken the beast, then we would see more enthusiasts picking them up. I guess the issue there is, like the B6/B7 S4, you’d need at least piggies, and that requires an engine drop or pull on these cars to get to the upper pair of cats. OK, I can see the bill adding up already. LOL

I find the PF rear tails borrow a lot from the C5 Avant.

I love the PF C6 Avant rear tails, and they are the ones that really look like the B7 to me.

All the new Audi tail lights remind me of VW

Anyway, just my opinion, and I am wasting too much time talking about taillights
