2014 S6 Stage 3 (RS7 turbos) / Roc-Euro intake / Milltek downpipes + resonated Valvesonic exhaust / AMS turbo cooler / 034 Motorsport trans. mount kit / APR ECU/TCU tune
Follow up to the updated post. The owner went on race gas with the same set up and managed a 10.6
The neat thing is it just appears to be a turbo upgrade to the OEM Rs7 turbos and an exhaust. Not too sure how much that combination is but I would think its cheaper then buying a RS7
Fun how much longer will trans and clutch hold up? KT is about 10k right? Any trans work?
Other than mount and tcu. And is tcu better than b8 tcu?
it’s basically RS6 sized turbos and a DSG. Interesting that its no faster than a stage 1 RS6 or RS7. Shows how good that ZF trasnmission is in the RS6/7 since the DSG is not really any quicker with the same power.
all of these numbers are on race gas.
Q “Was this the 104 octane program? What kind of fuel are you running? VP MS109 or Sunoco GT260 Plus?”
A "Yep. 104 octane.
Sonoco GT260 Plus. "
Yup, which is why I’d just get a 13 s8, for 55-63k add a tune and be done. 10.6-10.9 right there and I’ll put money that the 8 speed will outlast the dsg as much as I like it. Too bad the trunk is so much smaller, faceplant…
And your S8 will hold value much better than a stage 3 anything. The stage 3 kit is virtually worthless once it’s on the car.
Good point about the zf vs dsg.
We ran a tuned RS7 at the dragstrip one night and never came close to upsetting the transmission. However this stage 3 s6 appears to have been giving him problems all night so he had to intervene and manually shift etc. (to avoid shift hangups). Look at the range on his times. That’s unusual for automatic audis. That’s the dsg fucking things up.
For example. When bone stock zcd ran his s6 numerous times all within a few hundredths. The guy above has a range of over half a second.
Also aren’t 1.73-1.75 60 foot times a bit shit for a 650 hp quattro car? The two tuned RS7 cars on our list both went 1.70 and 1.67 respectively and the stage 1 S8 went 1.69.
Could also be the fact APR can’t tune the DSGs, which has become extremely obvious.

definitely not.
Although you don’t need to tune the DSG really. It works nicely on its own. Unfortunately when you throw torque at it, it tends to shit itself and go into protection.
Is the TCU forced on you when you buy the turbos?

didnt think of that. That is a good point in favor of the thought to be slower transmission.
Yeah, I’d like to see these cars without any tcu tune
Or perhaps someone who knows transmissions really well will code it…
8 speed ftw
