Can you fit a set of 4 wheels in your S5? Friend needs to transport his snows

Just wondering. What’s the best way to do it? How many in the trunk?

Friend is picking up his S5 this Saturday, and is also picking up a set of winter tires on wheels. He was asking me if I thought he’d be able to fit them all in the S5 if he and a passenger were in the car.

any other shit in the car? I’d think you could get two in the back seat and two in the trunk

If that doesn’t work, 2 on the back seats, 1 in the trunk, 1 on the passenger seat. Put them in big garbage bags(obviously)

what…and crush the passenger, his 9 year old son?

RTFS motherfucker!

maybe his son can sit behind him, put one wheel in the backseat next to him, two in the front seat and one in the trunk?

how long is the ride?

longish ride. I don’t think that’ll work.

Whether or not two will even fit in the trunk is kinda the question I have. Hopefully an S5 guy can chime in. I know cramming two wheels in the trunk of my RS4 would be just about impossible. 19s and 255.35.19 tires are just too damn big!

Tie the kid to the roof

typical B6 S4 hooligan response

:o ???
What?? When you put the rear seats down you can fit all 4 with no issue.

please note that I said ‘trunk’, not ‘entire car’. Just the trunk.

If he’s going to put two tires in the small S5 backseat with the seats up (do they even fold down on the coupe?) he’d then need to fit two in the S5 trunk. Not likely easy.

Yeah, just re-read that. FWIW two 19" wheels will fit in the RS4 trunk.

Not sure about the S5.

Is he picking up the tires/car all at once? Take the spare out and stick one of winter wheels in the spare tire bay.

he’s picking the car up and then picking up winter wheels/tires (mounted) right after.

he can’t take the spare out as

a) he’s literally buying the car and driving it home
b) the S5 has no full sized spare so it won’t fit.

Great idea though…I always used to forget to do that in my B7 S4. Now the RS4 has no spare AT ALL so that idea doesn’t work anymore. Damn!

http://www.audiworld.com/model/s5/content.shtml says the S5 does indeed come with a 60/40 split folding rear back. Failing getting an answer to your question, the options are:

Option 1 - get his dear friend sakimano to take some wheels
Option 2 - delete this thread, start a new one asking if Axel wants to do some pulls against an S5 and offer Axel $$$ if he can win S5 vs SC’d S4 and his S4 has 4 winter wheels in it.

In all seriousness, I did help out an A5 owner once by picking up some wheels, we didn’t even consider stuffing them into the A5. He paid the small price of hearing on a regular basis how much faster and more useful my car is.

It fits.

I fold down my rear seats and toss them in. I have to move up the passenger front seat all the way then stagger it by putting the first wheel up against the passenger seat, then next up behind drivers seat…etc.

Also they can be stacked by folding front passenger seat down and putting a a few wheel right behind the seat. I didnt like this though because thery could potentially slide around on top of eachother.

Id the passenger doesnt mind being cramped for the ride then it should be no probelm!

finally an S5 owner lol

Thanks for the input. I’ll let my friend know.

Bango that’s damn funny. I’d still have my money on the S4 Sc Avant.

Thanks saki lol.

That’s impressive. I’ll keep that in mind for the future. What size were the wheels out of interest?

They were stock size 255/35/19. Im going 265/30/19 in the summer…I dont think I will ever upsize to 20s however since the wheels are stack-able from side doors im sure 20s fit as well

Go 275 30 19

Better for gearing and more readily available
