I have to kind of agree with both sides.
I don’t think the following statement is bullshit:
“It is not a Norway maple leaf. It is a stylized maple leaf and it is what it ought to be,” said Bank of Canada currency spokesman Julie Girard.
But at the same time, I do think their stylized maple leaf looks way too much like a Norwegian maple leaf and that should have been flagged.

I don’t think it’s a big deal. There are a couple of different types of maple leaves in the currency.

Yes, they have a major spelling/grammatical error in the damn name .
You should see some of the errors we have (USA) over the years. There is a currency museum of sorts in the SS building in D.C. (Open to the public) Some real interesting stuff, including all the high end fakes (super notes) that are unbelievably impressive.
