Car running strong like bull

Seeing as these are car forums and the threads are usually all about how there’s something wrong with the car (I’m probably more guilty than the average poster) or it’s about drama, I just wanted to say that I took the car out tonight to go pick up my gf from work and boy, the car is running super strong!

Thanks JHM!

That is all.

Beast

Glad to hear your super avant is running strong!

Good to hear its running well

Although thread needs pics…happy if they are oldish

Its good to hear the car is still running strong…can you comment on how the car is hokding up structuraly after all the stuff you had to do to install the blower kit…

Don’t jinx it

I just got my pbox back if you want to borrow it. Also looking forward to Cayuga opening.

We should organise a track rental at St Thomas to open the season maybe. The guy was pretty keen to rent to us in November (before it snowed).

Glad to hear you still enjoy this beast! Is it time for a 3rd stage 2 avant?

Depends if I get accepted to the EMBA program I’m applying for. If I do, it’ll have to wait till 2015. if I don’t, I’ll have some money lol

Here’s an old one taken by a friend.

That picture is great man!

What school? The company I work for pays tuition so I’m looking at programs right now. I don’t want to have to “go” to class.

I’m applying to Rotman’s (UofT) Omnium Program (the Global EMBA). I’m an independent contractor though so I have to pay for it all on my own.

Love seeing threads like this!

Axel, emba is not all it’s cracked up to be.

Of course it isn’t and I doubt I’ll be learning anything new seeing as I’ve been doing that kind of work for 14 years now (Sr. IT Management) but unfortunately, society wants people to have degrees, even if they never need them. It’s a stupid world and I have to adapt or be left on the curb.

I also really hate having to pretend to be all enthusiastic and gung-ho to the school.

Interesting that you feel pressured to get an MBA. Who exactly is questioning your capabilities without the degree?

I work with quite a few professionals with MBAs, and everyone of them is a narcissist and a flake. I actually look DOWN on anyone that has a MBA.

Yup axel why the fuck do u need a degree? A degree is worthless and will put u in the narcissist category.

Yes it is definitely nice to have the experience but if u want more money u need to get those degrees and certificates regardless what anybody thinks.

^^^not a corporate guy, clearly…

in the corporate world , sure there’s a lot to be said for how good are you for the job, or can you get the job done…but at the end of the day, that’s not really the only consideration when people hire.

You can bet your ass that there are boatloads of $250,000 a year jobs with another $50,000 a year in stock where you won’t even get looked at without an MBA. Simple. Want those jobs? Get an MBA rather than immediately excluding yourself.

datadatum’s comments are interesting. Clearly datadatum isn’t hiring for the jobs Axel and I are talking about. It would be a great world if everyone was hired only on merit, and the best guy got the job, but if you live in a structured corporate world, you need the tools to make those jumps to the next levels. Or you need photos of the CEO fucking a 16 year old.

I hear you. To be fair, the hiring needs in R&D swing heavily to the technical side all the way through senior executives.

What field are you talking about? I’m interested in the “structured corporate world” comment, as that is what I would have used to describe my company.
