After the success of Good Friday at Cayuga (http://audirevolution.net/forum/index.php?topic=722.0), I thought it would be good to start another thread to see who’s around for some 1/4 mile dragstrip action. saki alluded to it in another thread.

I think we would all agree that April was a great meet, nobody took life too seriously and everybody had fun racing. As well as collecting untold amounts of data.

Obviously this is weather dependent, so let’s use this thread as a “yay or nay” communication board around the time as well. (Assuming everyone has some sort of internet on their phone.)

I’ll edit/keep up to date this original post to reflect people’s availability etc… I’ll start

I like late october. Early November is colder which is nice, but they tend to close early some years. If we plan late october, and get delayed by weather or something, we can always try the next week or the week after. If we try early november, have to cancel that week and they close the track down for the winter, we get screwed.

:smiley: just kidding. I thought you said you had sold/were selling your car. Most people don’t want to take their car to the strip in that situation

As for stock 335, there will likely be one there, maybe modded. They usually run 13s. Last time I raced a 135i with a bunch of mods (tune/exhaust/intake) and I was 12.9 while he was 13.1. He had brutal traction.

im open to trading… but nothing has come up yet that really peaked my interest.

And even if i were turning it over tomorrow… i would still track it today ;D

I just wouldnt go as hard as i normally do.

Speaking of which, When i do hard 2-3 pulls at the top of 2nd if i go close to the redline my clutch seems to heat up since i smell it.

Think i might be due for a transmission oil change?

This weekend (22/23 Sept) shows some showers. The weekend after (29/30 Sept) might be sunny and cool in the morning. edit: forget 29/30 Sept there’s some big event on.

i too prefer late october…

Cooler temps AND i have my winters on for more grip and less weight ;D

pretty good, although weekend mornings are best. Mornings have been cold for at least 12 hours and in all likelihood so has your car before you drove to the track (thus you’re arriving with excellent DA and then it warms up)

when you go at night, it is usually warm to start, then cools down. Your car usually arrives heatsoaked having just driven there in warm weather, and stays heatsoaked long enough that you never really see your best results.

Sunday is fine. Saturday preferred, buy Sunday works for sure.
