Cayuga Mon Oct 8th

Let’s just say there were some parts that were going to be proactively replaced but my car didn’t last the extra few weeks for the scheduled upgrade…just my luck…

As for going back for me, until I get LA, I don’t quite see the point. I was having difficulty launching on Mon (again) and that’s the difference between a 12.3/5 and a 12.8/9

Unfortunately, I’ll be getting LA a little later in the year and the track will most likely be closed by then.

What did you trap on Monday? Higher/same/lower than what I trapped driving your car in the summer? I didn’t see too many of your earlier runs unfortunatley.

My best was 12.99@109mph I believe (1.805 60ft). And that was a so-so launch (i.e. the best one but still not all that great).
With good launches (1.6/1.7), I think I could have hit 12.5/12.6 in those temps (and possibly better).
Second best was 13.19@109 with a 1.855 60ft

The worst one was 13.584@107 with a 2.132 60ft as a reference.’

And with all the runs, I was between 55 and 60C intake temp. With a sub-50C intake temp, I could have gone faster as well I think.

Just need LA, 10C ambient temps and maybe my performance winter tires for that split second wheel spin on launch and I should be good

Good to have you back Prime…

Hey welcome back PT!

Mistro, I think there may be provisional plans to go back in November, weather permitting…

mistro, notice that your best run was in the morning when it was still coldest…and after you parked the car to cool for 90 minutes. Then you had a bunch of progressively slower runs as the car got hot.

That’s why I like to park it for 90 minutes, make 2-3 passes, and then park it again. Running 4-5 times in a row just burns your shit out. Remember you also complained about 2nd gear not grabbing right away? Again car was just knackered.

Also, your first run was against me, and you posted my time as your time. You were

1.897
5.457
8.355 @ 85.47
10.840
12.918 @ 109.35

Good catch… I’ll double check the rest of the tissue paper time slips tomorrow.

One of the things I wanted to test out was how well the intake spacers held out with back to back runs. I even went as far as not opening my hood for some of the trips down the lineup. Not sure what to conclude since it was also a lot cooler than the other time I went with the spacers.

But you’re right about letting it cool down… huge difference.

Also noticed in this clip it sounds like I’m spinning all through second and chirping third. I wonder if better tires would make a difference or whether it would just bog my launches.

Was thinking of doing piggies this weekend and then sacrificing my remaining turkey to the gods in hopes that the JHM tune will be ready for public consumption.

I’m sure you spun a little, but I’be be willing to bet the spin through second and the third gear chirp was that Mach 1 next to you.

Agreed. Mustang spinning. The sounds starts when he starts. You are still accelerating in first gear when the spinning stops for him to shift (our first gear goes to 40 mph).

Also the sacrifice is a good idea since turkey leftovers should only be kept for three days max due to food safety reasons.

Here’s another look at Mistro’s 12.81 @ 111.0 run from last Monday

The 2012 Mustang owner posted it up. Pretty awesome sounding GT!
