Hi AR, my RS4 gave me a code P2293 (N276). I’ve done some reading and could not find anything relevant to the RS4 with this code. Usually the 2.0T cam follower/HPFP. I’ve replaced the FPR sensor and cleared the code. The light came back after stepping into it for a bit in 2nd gear up a hill, help?
That is a common code for the 2.0T.
I would check the N276 senor on the bank 2 HPFP as it could be failing. Check and see if the sensor plug is coming loose or is corroded/

It could be broken like this:
Also how old is your fuel filter? You’ll get odd fuel problems and codes if it’s old. You’d be in good shape to change it either way. I found out the fuel pressure regulator is actually in the fuel filter. Changing mine fixed my mystery fuel code last year.
Thanks for that Jake, I’ll take a peep when I have a chance.
Hyden, I replaced that fuel filter at 75k miles, car is at 110k miles now. What’s a recommended interval?
I do mine every 30k or so. Audi I believe suggests 55k (because this is outside of the audicare interval likely lol)
Turns out my HPFP on bank 2 was the culprit. Thanks Jake, much appreciated. The RS is pulling strong again.
Question for the folks that keep their engine bay clean, is spraying the engine bay down with a degreaser/pressure washing the 4.2 okay?
Personally, I would remove the CF trim pieces ahead and leaning those by hand. Add a little life to the inevitable yellowing. Also, those valves are soooo fragile, I wish their was some type of protective case to protect them…Anybody good at designing with a 3-D printer?
Not okay. Too many electrical problems potentially. A member of AZ did this and spent the next 6 months fighting gremlins. He did it on the advice of someone who worked at an Audi dealership. That was pretty shocking really.
Regarding engine cleaning I would suggest the following
-
do it the slow painful way…with a couple of rags and modest amounts of cleaner/degreaser
-
don’t worry too much about it…you tend to drive with your hood closed if you’re like most people, so it’s not an issue to waste a lot of time and energy on
