So somewhere between the altitude change, the 1000 miles of driving, or the fact that I had to put shitty 90 octane…my car has thrown a check engine light. It happened accelerating up a large hill on the freeway in S mode at a “little” above the posted speed. It is steady. I hope the Autozone can clear it, and its just minor. Any thoughts?
Sounds like a VAGCOM cable should be on your to buy list. If you were closer to Denver I’d say roll by to get the codes. Did you notice any misfiring? Any maintenance items due?
It did say service, however I assume its due to the changes that have taken place. I am hoping it is just a simple misfire or knock from the shit gas and 0-5000 ft in 2 hours!
I would get the code information from autozone I wouldn’t worry too much your car obviously sat for a while when you were away. It sounds more like a possible maf code then anything else. Higher elevation and a steep grade sounds like the ecu has to work over time to try and sort all of that out
Definitely agree. Hope to try to find some 100 octane at the Giant stores here in NM.
I’ve only had one cell on my car, and that was when I lent it to an out of town friend and he put cheap gas in it. He was about 300 miles away when he did it, called me… Happened right after he gassed it up. I had him go to an autozone and although I forget what the code was it sounded like a gas issue. I told him to take it easy until he could put some ‘different’ gas in and the cell never came back. Should have had him take the wifes mazda…
Nominated for understatement of the day!
Seconded.
Thirded lol
Note to self. Become better friends with islandhydro when I’m in town ask for him to loan me a car. Hold out for the S4.
Well, at least I don’t think you’d put discount regular in it!
