Have an appointment at the stealership tomorrow to test drive a brand new S4 w/ dsg, very excited ;D I’ve only been in a b8 once and it was just an A4. Hopefully I don’t fall in love because I want to hang onto the 3.0 for awhile :stuck_out_tongue:

That being said, my go-to local shop wants to fab up headers and an exhaust for a b8s4… If I get the S4 they would just charge me the cost of materials… Which would be AWESOME

I have only driven the S5 sportback which has the 3.0 supercharged unit, and WOW…its just so effortless

I’ll do the DP’s and exhaust on the 3.0 regardless of me buying a new car… So hopefully they will satisfy my need for speed before it’s too late :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol plugged my scanner in to see what I thought was 1 CEL code that I already knew about… turns out there were 4! Lmao, none of which I was expecting.

do you have your SAI pump disconnected? Its insufficient sai flow and warm up cat efficiency below threshold on both banks.

No I don’t, was planning to though. Doesn’t the tune write out the CEL for that anyways? My uneducated guess was o2 sensors or a vacuum leak.

^standard tune doesn’t tune out for SAI, s/c tune does. So they probably know how to do it on the 3.0, but you’ll have to request for it.

Oh gotcha, makes sense. That being said… The reason for me checking the CEL was my car is idling poorly, it occasionally does the dipping idle where it fluctuates between 6 and 800 rpm, then levels out. I also experience a lot of vibration in idle (park or neutral) Would this all point to a failing SAI?

no sounds more like a vac leak (the idle and running rough) … but the codes suggest that you may be running richer

I’ll get a vacuum leak test done (was going to have one done anyways) then go from there.

So my radiator fan or whatever is acting up again ALREADY (week or two later). had to jump the car after work. I have like 15 minutes a day to look under the hood of my car, this is noooot good. Just unhooking the battery for now so it doesn’t drain overnight. I know it’s probably a simple fix but I am getting to my wits end with this car.

Don’t worry bud, I’m still getting a CEL about twice a month with a vac leak & cat code… Having all this time off I might start tearing things apart and freshin up some things but the damn IRS is slower than our cars.
It’s my money and I want it now!

Lol speaking of slow. Last night, this pretty riced out integra (huge exhaust and mismatching rear wing) kept going into the turning lane at every red light and tried to race past me, every single fricking light. It was pretty entertaining, he would always run the red light right before it turned green so he’d have about 2 car lengths by the time I actually hit the gas pedal. Put buslengths on him every time ;D Not much of a victory, but it made me feel a bit better about having to unhook my battery whenever I park my car, lol.
