Also, when the DIY says that there will be spewing hot coolant…it is not exaggerating…

Ask me how I know, and my hand… :-\

Awesome! Thank you. I really appreciate it!

So I replaced my O2 and coolant sensors on Thursday. Thanks for the link that was very helpful.

Problem is: I still have the P0050 check engine code for the O2 sensor. I cleared it twice the first day and once today. It has come back each time. I used a Bosch sensor which I thought was a good choice, maybe not?

My emissions is due on August 29th.

I am really hoping it goes away on its own. What do you guys think? Am I going to have to get a new sensor?

post fhe full code that will help more

/Rant

So last Tuesday (9th) I shipped out my ECU to get tuned by JHM, priority. Priority takes 2-3 days no matter which destination inside the 48 states. Which means, could be as early as Thursday (11) but more than likely (12) Friday. Contacted JHM friday and they havent received it…So Saturday… Same deal and said they will check again on Monday…No dice, so here it is just about Tuesday and my ECU is no where to be found. I know sometimes its not 2-3 days but WTF. This is performance for my 3.0…That doesnt come around to often… I am quite pissed as I paid for priority and it is going to end up taking longer than damn parcel post. Efff you USPS.
Sad part is my Dad works for them too, he told me to “raise holy hell with them” which I am not to far from. Ahhh I just wanna go fast.

axles are easy to remove when they are in two pieces

^^Truth!

So was this on purpose?(looks like it was cut with hacksaw/sawzall)
Or did it actually break that clean?

snapped like that from a launch

thats crazy! I’ve never heard of anything like that happening. So how much power does it take to snap an axle?

apparently the power of a JHM tuned 4.2 with headers. beemercer do you know if the axels ojn the A6 are smaller then on the S4 and even more so are the 3.0 axels smaller then the S4.

Seems the JHM S4 has made well over 450whp and 450wtq so If the 3.0 axels are the same as the S4 I think the 3.0 guys would be good

Must of gotten some good ol’ wheels hop. JHM has beaten the living hell out of there cars with stock high mileage axles with numerous launches and they hold to a point. Defects in metal play a big part too if theres a air pocket or bad batch. Sometimes you get the good, sometimes you get the bad.

i have seen stock cars break stock axles, it depends on the amount of torque is given and how sudden the impact that is created to them at the time.

I’d have to agree completely, it wasn’t perfectly smooth pavement and I think it was a just poor luck. Once I get a new axle in I’ll still launch it just as hard, I’m not worried one bit. Plus I have nearly 11" wide borderline R-compound tires on all 4 corners, so that is gonna strain shit.

…or well I may not wrap the tach around 12 o’clock for launches anymore hahah

I like your style!

Lol your car is ridiculous beem!

Just got back from san fran last night. didnt get any time to meet up with anyone on here or go to JHM unfortunately :frowning: Now back to the reality of my car not working :frowning: Just ordering the new radiator and other parts right now.

In other news, I came home to find out my roommate got his new car: 2012 Mustang Boss 302. I made the mistake of taking a ride in it, now my freshly tuned car feels a bit slow :stuck_out_tongue:

I feel your pain, my buddy has 2011 5.0. That car is so sick. He wants to track it with my car and I said I’ll wait til I got stage 3 +++ before I line up next to him lol

Yea as much as I am not a fan of ford those cars are awesome. I test drove a '11 5.0 and it was a sick car. The boss 302 is even better (significantly), I can’t imagine our cars being able to hang with it unless we went FI. An s4 maybe but not ours :frowning:

Haha he has a little bit of motor work and the sound that thing makes is amazing. FI is in due time I think, not immediate but it will come.

Update on my rant, ECU ended up gettting to JHM yesterday. Damn USPS…lol

Hertz made the mistake of upgrading me to a 2011 GT. I’ve burnt half a tank of gas in like 60 miles. God damn that is a fun car to drive. It definitely needs bigger brakes, bigger tires, and stiffer/lower suspension though. I think I need to test drive a boss when I get home.

I have a list of mods for my 5.0L ready for when my brother eventually gets his car back on the road complete with it’s tune. ;D

On the axle thing I feel your pain. The pic in my avatar was taken 15 seconds before snapping both rear axles putting us out of the event.

Cheers,
Adam
