whats that black peice at the bottom of the valence?? is that a splitter? or whatever they are called? kinda looks cool, is the point of that to protect the valence if you ever scrape?
I was thinking of pricing a clear bra to line all my lowers with to help protect them, I imagine it would cost a pretty peny tho.
Its the cupra r splitter. Just screwed onto my usp lower.
As far a protection, I’ve ripped it off 3 times lol Dont know how much protecting it has been doing
Good point zingo. zero if you black out your grills and use the stock one it will be pretty hard to tell it isnt the exact right grill. Although I would get the fog grills for it.

He wouldn’t match the prices but he did offer me 15% discount which brought the totall down to 852$ plus stupid California Tax is 918$ total so thats not bad. only 120$ more than genuinevwaudiparts.com

I just got a email from ECS they have the black out lower grill on sale for 159$ I am considering getting this because it would save me almost 100$ but I read that they don’t make the upper black out grills anymore? and I would have to plasti dip it? which I don’t want to do, I just want the origionals.
Also ECS has the fog grills for 80$ I belive on sale right now.
Motorsport- Niello stocks all those parts and is willing to give me a 15% discount. Lasher does not carry anything in stock but the fender. So I’ll be going to Niello and for sure let you know whats up. I sent you a email already so you have mine, just lemme know if you want my axle.
So after a lot of picture searching and checking things out I’m considering going black out with the USP kit.
I am placing the order from ECS tommorrow and having it shipped 2nd day air so I can have it next wed in time for my car to be out of the body shop friday!
But, I still need more reassurance that its going to look good. I did search AZ and found some threads about the black out on denim blue B6’s, but AR people know more LOL

Nice work on the usp…I am not really the biggest fan of black and blue. I mean how many people wear black shirts with a blue suit. Denim blue is an odd blue as it is both dark and light in different situations, so it would be nice to have some light color like chrome/silver contrast. But hey what do I know I have a black car lol…I’m sure what ever you chose will look good…
I didnt see any pics of zero’s car? But yea sometimes a bit of chrome accenting on a silver car really lights it up. I’m quite liking the way mine is starting to look. I’ll post pics of the finished product in the next couple weeks.
On a side note, a shop a few minutes away from my house just signed on to sell JHM parts! Can I get a “hellzzz yea”?

So had a great drive down to Sac. and stopped in Roseville to see motorsports car (looks siiick, and very clean).
I picked up my driver side fender and bracket, USP front valence, and a fuel filter.

I also ordered black out USP lower and upper black out grill as well from ECS. Which will arrive wed. And I’m hoping my car will be in the shop with half of the work done cuz I’m hoping to get it back by friday (at least thats when the shop said it would be done)
My problem is as LOUR JNR stated who wears a black suit with a blue shirt??? At first I thought it would look clean but now I’m thinking that if i put on the black grills it will not because I still have the chrome trim on the rest of the car, which I don’t want to change AND I still have the stock headlights and I cannot afford ECODES right now.
So I have 2 choices, return them and eat the shipping charges I paid out the ass for. Or maybe sell or trade them?

I also just remembered one other option I have, not that i’m trying to copy anyone but just wanted to keep all my options open. I was thinking maybe paint the black peices blue like this car has, except he didn’t do the bottom for some reaoson which I think would look better personally.

I think on that shade of blue you gotta commit to either chrome or blacked out trim. The blacked out looks great IMO. Just get a couple cans of plastidip and do the rest!
I was going to black out my trim and joey mod my headlights, but after clear cornering my headlights I found the chrome accents seem to fit in pretty nicely with the black.
Thanks for the help, I think I’m going to stick with the chrome cuz I don’t want to black out anything else. Unfortuneatly I think I am going to get delayed a couple weeks of getting my car worked on because I have to drive up to seattle on the 19th for a wedding and I don’t want to drive it right after it was painted. But in the mean time maybe I can sneak down to JHM for the solid linkage upgrade and cross rod.

Hahah nothing too exciting, very set on keeping it oem+. ST coilovers are right around the corner, plastidipped lowers (trying something different) and new taillights. Should be happening within the next 2 weeks ;D but yes there is a special spot in my bank account reserved for JHM
