I want to change bearings is it true that there is a color code to order after spare parts? or is it the numbers that are in the picture
That does not have the format of a VAG p/n.
The base p/n is 079105701 and then there is a three character alpha designation after it representing either a yellow or blue bearing shell.
When I rebuilt mine last year, I installed the yellow ones and then used Plastigage to confirm that the radial bearing clearances were within factory spec. I believe the blue shells are thicker. I know they are in the case of the main bearings.
