Hey guys, just wanted to check in and say hello. I found this site after reading a thread over on EA… I think Saki mentioned something about it. Anyway, good to see you all over here and looking forward to following all the cool threads.

BTW, a buddy of mine just picked up an 08 E92 M3 with an RPI exhaust. We’re gonna do some pulls soon to see how the S4 hangs. I know I’ll get raped, but just want to see how she does with the JHM tune against his beast. Updates to come.

The good news? The 08-09-10 cars are slower than the new ones. I don’t know what bmw did but they took it up a notch.

If he’s a manual, you’ve got a chance. Shift at 6500 rpm and you’ll get the most out of the s4. Run him from a dig or lower speeds. They just fly up top. Love the v8 M3.

Unfortunately my cat-back is still 2.25 so I’m definitely loosing some there and I won’t be doing anything from a dig sadly since I’ll be daily driving the car again soon and need to preserve my clutch. The plan then is to run him from a roll and see how she does. So you think shifts at 6500 are still best even with the JHM tune? The car pulls really hard so I’m anxious to see how I do. Not sure when we’ll get a chance to do the runs, but I’ll post it up the day we do them.

I also love the V8 M3. The thing is just beastly with the RPI on it.

as for your car, good list. My car on piggies was pretty solid. ran 13.2-13.3 pretty easily (with a bunch of shitty 1.9 60 foot times). 2.25" catback sucks but it’s more the shape of the stock exhaust…it’s so bendy snakey…just inefficient as hell. I’d think about snagging a good used catback from someone or even a magnaflow for $700 or something. You should be able to sell the mufflers for $100-200 depending how lucky you get.

You’re probably fkt though lol. It’ll be fun though. I like racing much faster cars to see what the gap really is. It’s interesting.

RPI -http://www.raceprecision.com/2009/ - supposed to be good for 28WHP on the E92 M3, but we all know the claims exhaust manufactures make. Who knows, could be different in the BMW world.

As for mine, it was a res-Milltek, but I ripped it apart and rebuilt it (added back in 2.25 and removed resonators) “before” I knew 2.5 and X was the way to go. Oh well, probably not going to change it now since I may actually be selling the car in a few months.

LOL I wish. Decided to keep her after all. Just can’t part with the damn thing…it’s like part of the family. Anyway, I would probably need a GT3 at this point since the odds of a decent run for me just got a little worse.

My buddy just got his ESS ECU tune. Again, I am not part of the BMW world, so for all I know, that tune could be akin to APR/GIAC/UNI etc on a B6/7 S4. In any case, even if it added just 10HP, that doesn’t help my situation.

Not that I expect to win, of course not, this is more a friendly run to see just how much harder an E9X M3 pulls against the S4 with my mods.
