I will be adding more pictures and info to this thread as time goes on, so if details of this paint scheme are of any interest, then hey subscribe to this thread for notification of updates.

So, the original owner got the car looking like this:

Then the original owner gets coilovers, a big brake kit, S4 door blades, and an Ultrasport front bumper. Basically an S4 face lift:

Then the second owner gets it, and eventually sells it to me. I think it’s a nice Avant - I’ve always loved the white ones - but people don’t see the body lines that I see when I look at it. It’s a nice car, but it’s not exactly “Hey man, nice car” material at a glance.

So, I start with a black top, with matching tint. Color is a little off in the first picture because of the sun set.

One more shot of the black top before any other paint:

Next comes the contemporary big Audi grill. This B6 body has it - I can see that big grill tucked in behind the front bumper of my car. I just need to make it pop, so that everyone can see it at glance.

So to make that full-sized grill pop, bring on the S4’s grey grill color for the entire hood, plus part of front bumper, to visually tie the two grills into one large grill:

While we’re at it, let’s do the door blades grey, the wheels grey, and frame that trunk badge in grey. Make it sharp all the way around.

I’ve noticed that the first seven pictures, up until I mentioned making the grill pop, aren’t showing on my iPhone, because I added them to my post instead of linking them properly. Regardless of what that means, I will fix them so that they show up on mobile devices once I have permission to edit my posts. Hopefully soon.
