Is that a CX Racng core? I used one of their double pass exchangers on my IC system.
For what it’s worth, the bigger reservoir isn’t beicial. Tons of testing on cobras and L’s to prove it. Basically what it comes down to, is that with the increases fluid capacity, it takes longer for the fluid to get hot, but once it does get warm, it takes forever to cool. You want very little fluid with a very high flow pump and an efficient heat exchanger. The only benefit to the bigger reservoirs s that you can fit a bunch of ice in the to run at the strip.
You guys should look into doing something similar to a killer chiller. It uses the a/c system to get the fluid to about 40 degrees.
B6Joe, I had the vortech aftercooler kit on my mustang… I would make several dozen 16oz solo cup ice blocks that would drop right into the resvoir… I also put a petty cock at the bottom so I could drain most of the fluid, add the ice, make a pass, and repeat… It did wonders for the IAT’s… I also had fans hooked up blowing air across the heat exchanger when I was in the staging lanes… Had a seperate switch to turn them on/off… Haven’t dicked around with it on the S4 though…
George, just got home and per your pm, the apr is 17 inches H x 25 inches W x 1.5 inches T… Also, on the width 1.5 inches of each side is the end of the exchanger so true frontal area is 22 inches… Hope this helps… Let me know if you need anything else and welcome to the b8 club ;D
