Custom Exhaust made by me , 2005 S4

Hi guys

This is the custom exhaust ( not finished yet) that Im doing for my car …tig welded ( Im not the best one to weld as you can see ;D) but its ok. total cost about 200 dollars , today Im going to modified the Stock Mufflers will post more pics later , why Im doing this , well , in my country you can’t use aftermarket mufflers and pass the TUV .
Hope you enjoy.

cool

neat to see the inner workings of the mufflers. Drone reduction design.

Are you backpurging the pipes when you weld them together? Or are you using SolarFlux type B on the back of the welds? I ask because stainless is temperamental and you need to shield the back of the welds with something.

I am assuming that you are going to modify the inside of the stock mufflers for better flow.

backpurging Jimmy
Yep you are right Im going to modified the mufflers for better flow , probably going to finished tomorrow and of course will post more pics.
Thanks

The catback its complete … I’m going to test it tonight and see what the diff is… first impressions … NO drone the sound its so much improve over the stock pipe, doing a vid so you can see , the car its a little more reactive , from 6000+ rpm better did a quick hp measure with the race-logic and its about 5-8 hp increase well Im going to se tonight the diff , ( the car still has the main cats intact , As soon the test with the catback its done Im going to take them out and se the diff , then JHM tune )
Regards.

Will you still be posting pics of the mufflers before you welded them up again? I would like to do something similar to my B7 so curious to see how it all turns out for you.

Cheers

Cool Stuff, bummer you gotta go through all that though b/c of regs where there are already some great options out there. DIY stuff is usually fun though.

You forget about Count cutting mine up for fun when we were up in Detroit? They’re far from High-flow, really lets you realize the benefits of something like the straight through design of the Fast Intentions.

I remember it was a nightmare to do.

Haha, which part!?!?

I was only referencing Count taking an air grinder to the stock mufflers bc he wanted to see what they looked like on the inside.

Yes I know. I remember it well. I said above that it is neat to see…isn’t it? Note that I didn’t say ‘wow this is the first time I’ve ever seen that!’

The finished muffler its "almost "a straight through design ( 45 degree pipe to the exist ), its connects with the “almost” 2,5 inch pipe that goes to the big exist of the OEM Muffler
here it’d the pic

the v band connects to the catback .
Last night I run against my friend c6 S6 ( cat-less), he got me 7-8 cars last time we run now its a car less ( hope so jajaj) ;D tonight finally have some time to use and test with the race logic and see how the catback do
Regards.

Looks great…how is the sound?..How about drone?

Thanks… I will make a vid today , no drone or almost none … hope stay the same without the cats
Happy with the sound so far .

Yes a video would be great…thanks

Hi,

Just joined because of this thread, as thinking of doing something similar with my S4 B7. Do you have any pics of what you did to the backbox?
