I put in a new CPS and not surprisingly, I still have misfires on all cylinders except 5 & 8. I agree that it isn’t actually misfiring, but now it throws it into limp mode. If i turn it off and restart, it’s fine.
After that i did the reset all learned adaptations, which also did nothing.
I don’t have an oscilloscope, but it’s been on my list. Probably would be good to watch the wave forms on the CPS. Is that what you are thinking.
I made a ton of logs and don’t see a smoking gun. Fuel pressure is good, cam adjustments look good, lambda looks good. You would think lambda would be all over the place with the misfires. I do see that the voltage on the knock sensors that are “misfiring” are all .468v at idle and cylinder 8 is .156v. That seems like a potential correlation.
Any thoughts? Thanks again!
It’s fixed (knock on wood)!
I decided to try and do a throttle body alignment and throttle body 2 would error out. So I’m thinking that throttle body was on its way out. I got a new throttle body, did the alignment with no errors and took the car for a 30 minute drive in town and on the highway. It didn’t have a single misfire. Why i didnt get a throttle body code is beyond me, but at least for now, it’s running amazing. Thanks for all your help. Hopefully this experience can help someone else in the future.
Good to know! Let us know, if anything happens again
