What do You recommend other than Sylvania’s at $51-$99 each.
Or are they worth double the others cost?

8k bulbs are not going to be that good, higher temperature bulbs do not provide more output, they actually have less light, What you want is more LUMENS. The most common upgrade for bulbs are the ones I bought in my thread the Osrams They have a little higher temperature without loosing lumens so you get a little whiter/bluer light without losing lumens. D1S bulbs are unfortunately more costly than D2S so your going to have to pay over 100$ per bulb. I think mine were like 130$each or something like that.

Here they are, actually little less than I thought…

This is what is in there now.

Ordered two of these.

Osram CBI and SVS are the best bulbs you can get from what I’ve seen. The SVS bulbs came out just when I got my CBIs, but the only real difference is color temperature. Stick with 4300-5000k bulbs to keep visibility up and avoid looking like crap. The ones you purchased are OK, but at the price, I’d be worried about them being knockoff bulbs from China.

yup X2, I’d return them and buy the Osrams. You also have to worry about longevity cheap bulbs don’t last long, Trying to save a few bucks now will almost ALWAYS cost you more later.

Bad choice? Good choice?

Do they look legit?

They look it to me.

If they end up being legit bulbs, then they’ll be OK. I wouldn’t expect equal or better light output though.

In my experience it is better to not risk it. Do it right or do it twice. If they fail its not likely you can return them. And the Osrams look amazing as you can see even in my pictures in my thread which aren’t the highest quality. They are much whiter and have the same output if not more than OEM. And on their site it says they have a 4 year guarantee which I don’t think i’ve ever seen before.

4 year warranty on the ones I purchaced.

As long as then end up being legit Phillips bulbs, you’ll be fine. At 5000k, you’re going to loose 2-300 lumens over stock bulbs, or the Osram CBIs. I usually don’t see legitimate HID bulbs from Phillips or Osram for less than $75/bulb.

They were $51.xx each and they are brighter then the ones I took out.

Not quite as blue as the CBI. “Cool Blue Intense”

$27 for a pair at ddmtuning.com. I’ve bought HID fog bulbs from them. Good to go.

Looking through the garage today, I found a receipt for my headlight bulbs. I got my fog HID bulbs from ddmtuning.com , but headlights were from store.candlepower.com . Good deals compared to shopping locally.

Also plasmagarage.com has a pair of D1S hid for $129 including shipping. They also use PayPal.
