no chance I will compile them lol…sounds like a nightmare
what are you guys going to log anyway? I just check rpms vs time, maybe timing pulled on bank one grp 020 and group 003 for throttle maf and timing request
logs seem to work best when its kept low key and non competitive I’ve found. I’ve been looking at other people’s logs for a few years for the V8 S4s and it can be quite a useful performance gauge but I keep them private.
Maybe if you guys just post the logs as is it’d be a good start, ie don’t attach an rpm/sec in your post just leave that for the reader to figure out.
Also if you guys were interested I can put in some time with the excel vba program I had started for log analysis. Basically it would filter data down and make a few charts as a start.
I agree , im just going to post them up with whats done for reference but not going to group them as to help emliminate " swinging dick contest". I want to help the ones that might have a weak motor, new mods etc.
I will do some tonight and let you know.
Interested mate. As I said before I would pay ten bucks for it (beemercer’s excel idea), app store style. If we have a dozen guys here who do that it would at least pay for some of your tine, which is valuable.
Ok so I logged a 3rd gear pull now I’m going to do an acceleration test from both 50 to 100 (3rd gear only) and 60 to 130 just for campairson to other vehicles.
Edit: I don’t about the 50 to 100 as it won’t register to 100 but my speedo does, so I guess what’s a good mph to mph test for everybody else?
Oh I did do 60/130 (started in 3rd) , came in at 10.9 seconds. (just found the APR’s sc rs4 went 10.2 for a reference.
This is the typical standard for VAG logging. For the RS4 we measure time from 3K-8.2K in 3rd but often times the soft limiter kicks in around 8,080/8,100 and can screw things up a bit.
jnaut. While I think this is a bad idea because you are going to be only 1 of maybe 5 guys that is going to do this right and to not have to cut your logs to make it look like your car is faster then it ireally is. A tip for posting on the forums with blocks of information like what you did is to… first copy the data from excel and then paste it into word document. Then copy it from the word document directly into the reply box. that will make the log look more like a log. This will depend on your word version you need to have the 10 or better version.
