Question for the community here. I have a bunch of DIYs that I will be typing up for the B6/7 S4s but should I do them independently with links to other steps in a progression or one massive DIY for things like major repairs?

I am wondering because there are a bunch of smaller repairs that people will do like removing and reinstalling the intake manifold for intake spacers, downpipes, etc and then there are bigger repairs like replacing the clutch and flywheel or doing a timing chain service.

This is great for everyone. It would be best if you did several small ones. Thus makes it easier on you and opens up a library of DIY then trying to fit tons of information into one post. Lookin forward to your DIY stuff.

Agree with justin. Smaller one would probably be better. BTW do you want to make one for header install on a TIP? lol should be picking some up over the winter ;D

I can if you want. PM me and we can work out the details.

Once i get them, will do!

Man, my front main seal DIY is pretty ghetto

This is awesome, you guys are the best for doing this. My request would be a BBK install or a link to a good one because I haven’t found one. I’m gonna pick up the BBK from JHM and I’d like to install it myself if possible. Also, maybe the LSD too . Again, you’re the best.

Joe, whatever it takes man. You would be surprised by some of the things that I have done to fix certain issues.

MDUBZ, JHM has installation instructions for their BBK on the website. The frustrating part for me was trying to get the nut on the bolt that holds the caliper in place without dropping the rotor off the wheel hub. I can definitely put together a DIY for how to remove the rear diff housing but I have to see if I have pictures to show how to install the LSD carrier portion. It takes a press to get the bearings on and off so that deters most people.

If anybody has any requests for other DIYs then I will try to get them posted up. I have a bunch to do with engine related parts right now but if you don’t see something then please ask.

JimmyBones - way to help out the AR community. Big +karma

Hehe, I’m interested in seeing the DIY timing guide and adjuster replacement; also the clutch/pp/fw DIY

;D

Thanks Jimmy, I didn’t realize the site had instructions on them. I bet I could find a shop that’d be willing to press the bearings for me. I guess I should make some calls before I start that project. +karma for this and all of the DIYs, this stuff helps out the community and the site a bunch.
