DIY Bumper Repair

Hey guys,

So unfortunately my bumper clipped onto the cement boarder in a parking lot and stripped part of the bumper off as I didn’t realize what was happening until it was too late for my driver’s side. It looks like there was minimal damage, however the clip that connects to the inside of the fender has broke and there’s very very slight give that isn’t necessarily cosmetically noticeable but will drive me insane if I don’t fix it.

I’ve thought over several options: plastic welding, putting epoxy and connecting it to the fender (not ideal as I’ll more than likely need to remove it at one point) or utilizing bumper clips. Since I’m leaning towards the bumper clips, I found some fairly decent looking clips that I would plan to put on the inside of both the bumper and fender. Preferably, I’d rather not drill any holes in the bumper, so possibly using some of the epoxy to secure the clips and connecting it on the insight would work?

Actually, better judgment says to just replicate the broken clip through plastic welding. Just bought some JD PlastiWeld and I’m going to get some molding clay to replicate that broken piece then attach it and allow time for it to cure.
