DIY - Headlight removal - B6 S4

Why: 1. Bulbs randomly fail.
2. Required step for a lot of other repairs and this a convenient difference between B6 and B7 cars.
3. A lot of people like to clear corner their headlights.

Tools required:

  1. Extra long T30 Torx socket and ratchet
  2. Small 90 degree pick tool

Steps:

  1. Open hood.
  2. Remove the two upper T30 bolts that hold the headlight tabs to the top of the core support.

  1. Loosen the back two T30 bolts that hold the back of the headlights in place. The bolts stay in place but loosen them like five to six turns.

  1. Slide the headlights out a little bit and disconnect the electrical connector for the headlights then remove the headlights fully. I have to use a small 90 degree pick tool to get the electrical connectors off because usually they are stuck on really well.
