18613/P2181/008577 - Performance Malfunction in Cooling System

Possible Solutions
Check Engine Coolant Temperature Sender (G62)

Check Coolant Thermostat
Check Engine Cooling System Put the key on, fan speed on 1, and push the a/c switch. Are both fans kicking on? If not, you found the problem.
Put the key on and fan speed on 1 with temperature set to hot. Does heat come out readily from the vents? No. Probably the water pump is gone.
Yes. Probably the thermostat is gone.

Special Notes
Check the stored Freeze Frame data with this fault code. Freeze Frame information will be found in the fault code description (if the module supports it) or in Generic OBD-II if the vehicle complies with those regulations. Freeze Frame data stored at -40C is generally an indication of a faulty ECT or wiring.
Freeze Frame data stored at +140
C is generally an indication of a faulty ECT or wiring.
Freeze Frame data stored with in the 68C ~ 80C range is an indication that the vehicle was close to, but not within, the cooling systems normal operation range. The Thermostat itself or Cooling system components may be at fault.

17026/P0642/001602 - Sensor Reference Voltage A: Circuit: Low

Possible Causes
Control Module and/or Sensor Power Supply faulty

Possible Solutions
Check Control Module and/or Sensor Power Supply

Prime if you have a aux rad. its the pump that drives it. This seems to be 90% of the issues when you get this code on the B6 S4

Thanks to you both! I’ll keep you posted and let you know what it ends up being… thanks again…

Oh and it is a 2.0T, Halo…

Update… took the car to the dealer and they checked it and said it was a bogus code??? Told me t-stat, water pump, etc is fine… cleared the code and told me to not worry about it… didn’t charge me for diagnosis so I was happy with that… Will keep an eye on it and see what happens… wife has to take it to Pitt. which makes me a little nervous… Thanks again for the help guys!

what’s Pitt…as in the city of Pittsburgh, or the school?

what american football team do you cheer for? You’re kind of in the middle of a whole bunch of them

Hopefully he roots for the Steelers, otherwise He is dead to me…lol I’m actually from about 45 miles N of the Burgh. My wife and I were trying to move back North…Rochester, NY area (where she is from) but man I don’t miss the winters one bit.

I bet he’s a Browns fan

p.s. this is nuts…look how northeast centred the NFL is. Just grabbed this map off the web. Guy seems to have forgotten that New York exists…and Denver

Saki, Yeah Pitt., is Pittsburgh… she was born there and lived in a suburb called Upper Saint Claire. She came here for college and stayed ever since and is now stuck with me! lol Yeah, I guess I’ll admit to being a Browns fan but there hasn’t been much to cheer about since the 80’s when we actually had a good team… In the 12-13 years I have known my wife I think we have beaten Pittsburgh once maybe twice! lol

Euro, looks like I’m dead to you! lol Sad thing is ever sine I started playing fantasy football in 1989 I root more for players than teams… I’ll be watching a browns game and cheer when say AJ Green scores and my wife is like hey I thought you liked the Browns… lol She doesn’t get it… I am pretty into and have probably banked 10K+ since 89 when we started so it’s fun and profitable… Now they just need to allow online poker back in the US and I’ll have my second income back!
